METHOD 1 (to be used when a computer is not available at the job site):

NOTE: It is best to store the Delta OIU application files in a sub-folder. The folder should be named based on the OIU number
(for example: UH37008A). Inside this folder would be another folder named HMI-000 that contains the six download files.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the six files are received in an email, be sure to copy the six files to the HMI-000 folder on your
computer first and then copy the HMI-000 folder containing the six files to the root of your USB Flash memory drive.

The HMI-000 folder is the one that is selected from the left-hand menu of the Copy File or F/W Update screens.

The USB flash memory drive must be formatted as FAT32. The USB flash memory drive is connected to the USB Host port (see
E on the drawing below). The PLC cable is connected to the COM1 port (DB-9M, see C on the drawing below). The power
input is 24 VDC @ 125 mA.

A – Power Input (24 VDC) E – USB Host (USB flash drive)

Apply power to the DOP OIU, if there is already an application running, press the System reset button on the back of the OIU
(or with no application loaded), the System Menu will display:

Press the File Manager icon.

Press the Copy File icon from the File Management screen.

.Select the file on the left that contains the application program located on the USB flash drive, typically HMI-000. The
destination is on the right and is typically HMI-000. Press COPY.

Back and Home buttons

COPY
If the firmware needs to be updated, there will be a pop-up prompt telling you to update the firmware. Refer to page 3 for
details. Do not upgrade the firmware if the OIU firmware is newer than the application that is being copied.

After the file copy is completed (if the firmware does not have to be updated), press the Home button in the upper right
corner to return to the main menu. You can press the Back button or cycle power to load and run the application.

Procedure for updating the firmware (only required if prompted during the Copy File procedure):

From the File Management Menu, use the left or right arrows to select F/W Update:

Select the source of the firmware. Typically, this will be HMI-000. The firmware version after the update will be displayed on
the screen. Click “UPDATE”.

UPDATE
The “FW File Burn Successful” appears to confirm the successful update of the firmware.

Back and Home buttons

The Display may re-boot at this point. If so, you must press the System reset button on the back of the OIU. You must now
perform the Copy File option (described on page 2). If the display does not re-boot, you can press the Back button (upper
right corner) to return to the File Management screen. Then perform the Copy File option described on page 2). Press the
Home button in the upper right corner to return to the main menu.

You can press the Back button or cycle power to load and run the application.

METHOD 2 (to be used when a computer is available at the job site and the thumb drive files are not available):

1. If the Delta DOPSoft programming software is already installed you will see this icon on the desktop:
2. If the Delta DOPSoft programming software is already installed, skip to step 4.
3. Install the Delta DOPSoft programming software version 1.01.10 as follows:
• In a web browser, type the following address (hover the mouse on the following web address,
hold down the CTRL key, and Left Click):
http://www.delta.com.tw/product/em/download/download_main.asp?act=3&pid=3&cid=2&tpid=3
• Download the DOPSoft 1.01.10 software and then download the DOPSoft V1.01.10 patch.
• Install the DOPSoft 1.01.10 by double-clicking the install file that was downloaded.
• Then install the patch by double-clicking the patch file that was downloaded.

4. Obtain the DOP “dps” program from the City of Industry Engineering OIU programs directory or from the City of Industry
Engineer’s email.
5. Make sure that the Delta OIU is powered on.
6. Connect a USB-A to USB-B cable from the computer to the Delta OIU.

7. Double-click on this file (the extension for all Delta OIU programs is .dps).
This will open the Delta DOPSoft programming software.

8. From the Tools pull-down menu, select “Download All Data”.

9. The program will first re-compile the program and then download it to the Delta OIU.
