Lesson: A SPEAKING LESSON – Introductions and greetings

Teaching time: Period 1 – Saturday morning

I. OBJECTIVES: After this lesson, students will be able to:


- (Knowledge) greet people and introduce themselves or someone else (formally)
- (Language) learn new phrases and vocabulary to greet people and introduce themselves
or someone else
- (Skill) know how to start a conversation and show their interest in that conversation
II. RECENT WORK: unknown
III. APPROACH AND TEACHING AIDS:
- Communicative Approach
- BB, textbook, microphone, speaker, eraser, markers
IV. ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
- Technical problems: T should come to class early and check if the microphone and the
speaker work beforehand
- Ss may not understand what the tasks require: T should prepare instructions and modify
the tasks/ tasks instructions if necessary at home
- Ss may get bored/ tired during the lesson: T needs to arouse their interest by preparing
some video clips

- Divide the class into groups of three.

Task 2: Predicting
- Form pairs.
