Introduction to Facebook page

Facebook now has over 2.23 billion monthly active users. And as small business owners and brand
managers, there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to reach and connect with your target audience
through Facebook.

A business page on Facebook gives you a way to communicate directly with your target audience. Think
of it as an ongoing focus group. Your fans are there because they are aware of your company and want
to learn more. While they certainly are expecting to receive useful information from your Facebook
page, you also can be collecting useful information from them through their participation.
Facebook Insights also provide useful information about your fans and their interactions on your page.
As a microcosm of your target market, your Facebook fans can tell you a lot about what they want
through their interaction, comments, and feedback. Facebook groups should also be considered.

Insights

Insights provide information about your Page's performance, like demographic data about your
audience and how people are responding to your posts. Keep in mind that you can only access data in
Page Insights for the last 2 years, and demographic data, such as age, gender and location, are available
in Page Insights once there is data for 100 or more people. Pages categorised as a Community Page don't
have Insights.

You can use Insights to understand how people are engaging with your Page, view metrics about your
Page's performance, and learn which posts have the most engagement and see when your audience is
on Facebook.

9
To see Page Insights:

1. Click Insights at the top of your Page.

2. Click sections on the left for more information.

You'll need to be an admin to control what visitors can post on your Page. If you allow visitors to publish
on your Page, their posts can appear in the Visitor Posts section after you click Posts on the left side of
your Page. If you allow photo and video posts, posts by others can also appear in the Photos and Videos
sections of your Page.

To control what visitors can post on your Page:

1. Click Settings at the top of your Page.

2. From General, click Visitor Posts.

establishment.

1. Click Event at the top of your Page's timeline.

2. Add an event photo, then enter your event's name, location and frequency (example: occurs once,
weekly or you can customise the date range for your event). You can include optional details like:

a. Ticket URL: If you've set up the event with an online ticketing provider, enter the link.

b. On Sale Now or Custom Date: Choose the date that tickets go on sale. If tickets are available now, fans
will be able to purchase tickets from your Page. Those who are interested in an event will receive a
notification when tickets go on sale and will be able to purchase from your Page at that time.

3. Click Publish or Save Draft. You can also click and select Schedule to select a date and time in the
future for when you want your event to publish.

Facebook ads

Types of Facebook ads

Photo ads

These simple ads are great way to get started with Facebook advertising. You can create one with just a
few clicks by boosting an existing post with a photo from your Facebook Page. Photo ads may be simple,
but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring.

Video ads

Video ads can show your team or your product in action, or they can simply be aspirational.

11
Slideshow ads

Slideshow Facebook ads offer an easy way to create short video ads from a collection of still photos or
existing video clips. They have eye-catching motion, just like videos, but use much less bandwidth, so
they load well even for people on slow internet connections.

Lead ads

Lead ads are only available for mobile devices because they’re specifically designed to make it easy for
people to give you their contact information without a lot of typing. They’re great for collecting
newsletter subscriptions, signing someone up for a trial of your product, or otherwise allowing people
to ask for more information from you.
