Well, I’m going to speak about my experience taking decisions for my studies.
When I was studying I took bad decisions, because the education in Spain is careless and doesn’t pay too
much attention to students. When I was in the fourth year of secondary education, I had to decide if I wanted
to choose science branch, humanities branch or social branch and at the moment I didn’t know what I
preferred.
After all, I chose science studies because my mother and my sister told me that science studies could give
more opportunities to find a job.
Have you ever been taken a decision without knowing what you wanted actually?
In general, I believe I have been uncomfortable with my studies ever since I started school. For example,
books were very expensive and I spent a lot of money on them and later teachers weren’t using them in class.
Don’t you think it’s a waste of money?
What subject would you remove from the curriculum in your country? (oh… I understand)
I’d prefer to remove history, because the history that I studied is written by white men. It’s a biased history, in
my opinion. However, I’d rather add Business studies or more IT lessons.
Well, let me tell you that after all I have been through, from my point of view, one solution for students not to
take bad decisions would be to force teachers to help them. Teachers have to give students good information
for the near future and make more education counselors available because if we don’t stop this situation, more
people will be more and more frustrated.
Have you ever heard of anyone dropping out of their degree because they thought it’d be different?
In my opinion, nobody knows what to expect. I believe that in the future the structure of education should be
changed, because if it remains same, people will keep on making bad decisions and it’s not good for our lives
or for the society
Do you think that the British education helps better their students for their future?
