WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/
OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance of the powerplant (AMM
TASK 71-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
SUBTASK 860-001-A
(3) Connect the external AC power supply to the aircraft (AMM TASK 24-42-02-860-801-
A/200 ).
(4) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
switches to the unlatched (off) position (a striped bar comes into view):
• BLEED1
• BLEED2
• BLEED APU
• XBLEED
(5) Put a DO NOT OPERATE tag on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel.
(6) Make sure that the engines (AMM TASK 71-00-01-910-806-A/200 ) and the APU
(AMM TASK 49-10-00-910-802-A/200 ) are not in operation.
(7) Make sure that the SLAT/FLAP lever is in the zero-degree position and put a DO NOT
OPERATE tag on it.
SUBTASK 010-007-A
(8) Get access to the middle avionics compartment as follows:
(a) Open the access door 199AL.
(b) Open and remove the access door 147AL (AMM TASK 52-46-00-000-801-A/
400 ).
SUBTASK 862-008-A
(9) For the LH engine, open this circuit breaker and put a circuit breaker ring and tag
(inoperative - do not operate) on it:
• E1 REVERSER-LICC (DC BUS 1)
(10) For the RH engine, open this circuit breaker and put a circuit breaker ring and tag
(inoperative - do not operate) on it:
• E2 REVERSER-RICC (DC BUS 2)
SUBTASK 010-006-A
WARNING: FOLLOW THE CORRECT SEQUENCE WHEN YOU DO THE SPECIFIED TASKS
TO OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
INSTRUCTION, INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN
OCCUR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LEADING EDGE SLATS ARE RETRACTED AND NOT IN
OPERATION BEFORE YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER. WHEN THE
THRUST REVERSER IS OPEN, THE EXTENDED LEADING EDGE SLATS CAN HIT
IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE SLAT LEADING
EDGE AND THRUST REVERSER CAN OCCUR.
(b) Use GSE 060 to open the access door 415AL (AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-801-A/
200 ).
(b) Use GSE 060 to open the access door 425AL (AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-801-A/
200 ).
CAUTION: PUT CAPS ON ALL LINES AND FITTINGS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA IS
CLEAN AND FREE OF ALL UNWANTED FLUID. DIRT CAN CAUSE SYSTEM
CONTAMINATION, LEAKAGE, AND DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS.
(b) Remove the coupling (3) that attach the engine bleed line (2).
(c) Remove the coupling (4) that attach the high stage bleed valve (REF.).
(d) Remove the coupling (15) that attach the NAPRSOV (REF.).
(h) Remove and discard the seal (5) and the seal (14) .
(2) Install protective cap/plug on all openings of the engine bleed lines.
