BREATH CHANGING METHODS

After a long time, one came back to share something with all the readers and
followers. Hope all the seekers on their spiritual path, Sadhaks, are enjoying
their different practices during this present time of auspicious Navratras. One
sincerely wishes for the fruitful culmination of their practices into desired
spiritual goals for higher evolution.

One of the main scripture dealing with changing of breath in our nostrils and
tattvas is 'Swarodaya Shastra'. A few methods have been mentioned in it to change
one's breath. Practicing various things one realized that breath in our nostril can
be changed by many methods. One observed, practiced and devised various methods to
achieve the same result. Though there are many more methods but here for the
benefit of all the sadhaks', a few are being shared along with sketches to make
things more clear.

Hope it will be helpful to all the sadhaks to manipulate their particular breath in
sadhana, which is not being discussed in the present information sharing. Praise be
to the Mother.............Om! Hrim.

Tks for liking the post. Since it was not possible to send any communication to you
directly because of 'not public' status of contact, I have found that by holding
hast mudras of different elements one can easily change the elements in the breath.
It hardly takes 10-20 seconds to do that. Sometime some elements in a specific
person change very quickly also because of their particular practices which involve
that very element. I have seen if a regular sports person is there he can easily
change the fire element, pingla nadi. Trust it will give you some idea about what
you asked for, with best regards...Shaktanand.

Tongues of Agni

Agni is said to have SEVEN tongues. Each tongue is meant to serve a particular
purpose, like Maran, Mohaqn, Ucchatan, Vashikaran, Pushti etc. Thus it becomes
imperative for a person doing havan to know how to activate any particular tongue
of the Fire. There are many tantra scriptures giving out such details. One found
this reference in the Ling Puran also. Their directions, mantras mentioned, joined
with some information from other scriptures too for the benefit of the readers,
being reproduced below :

1. South: Nyas-Eye; Adhidevta-Pishach

Om Bahurupayai Madhya Jihvayai Anekvarnayai Dakshinottar-Madhyagayai Shantik-

Paushtik-Mokshaphal-Pradayai Swaha.
2.North-East: Nyas-Lingam; Adhidevta-Devta(Divines)

Om Hiranyayai Chamikarabhayai Ishan-Jihvayai Gyan-Pradayai Swaha.

3. East: Nyas-Feet; Adhidevta-Pitra(Ancestors)

Om Kankayai Kanaknibhayai Ramyayai Indrajihvayai Swaha.

4. South East: Nyas-Head; Adhidevta-Gandharva

Om Raktayai Raktvarnayai Agney-Jihvayai Anekvarnayai Vidveshan Mohnayai Swaha.

5. South West: Nyas-Face; Adhidevta-Yaksh

Om Krishnayai Nairritejihvayai Marnayai Swaha.

6. West: Nyas: Nose, Adhidevta-Naag(Serpents)

Om Suprabhayai Pashchim Jivhayai Muktaphalayai Shantikayai Paushtikayai Swaha.

7. North West: Nyas-Whole body; Adhidevta: Rakshas (Demon)

Om Abhivayaktayai(Atiriktayai) Vayavjhivayai Shtruucchatnayai Swaha.

General Mantra of Agni dev mentioned here is 'Om Vahnaye Tejasvine Swaha'.

When we are performing havan and Agni is established its various tongues keep on
moving in different directions. Thus it is not possible to select one tongue and
offer ahutis in that very tongue. To overcome this problem, it has been mentioned
in the scriptures that whichever tongue one desires to use, initial poojan of the
tongues be done with that very tongues kept in the East direction on the yantra
drawn (Star shaped) and all other tongues in their sequence shifted accordingly.
For example, if we do poojan of NE direction tongue Hiranya poojan in East then
East tongue Gagna will move to S-E. Thus all other tongues will shift to their next
places.

Further,

Inside kund, where only wood is seen - represents Ear of the fire

,, ,, ,, only Bhasm or Ashes are - represent Head of the

fire

,, ,, ,, only Earth is seen - represent Nose of the

fire

,, ,, ,, only burning power - represents Eye of the fire.

One should not offer ahuti into any of these spaces, as they will bear problems for
the performer. Ahuti should always be offered into the middle of the roaring flame
when one chants SWAHA, as at that moment mouth of the fire opens to accept ahuti.
Hope it is informative for the readers. Next time. will share some more aspects of
havan with the readers............Om! Agni Vaishwanaraye Namah Swaha.

Things during Deepawali days (2017):

DEEPAWALI KRITYA:

As per Skandhpuran, one who offers deep of ghee to Lord Keshav, he always remains
happy with him. Chandan, Karpoor, Kevda, Kesar, Deepdaan are always liked by
Keshav; lotus, Tulsi dal, Malti flowers, Agastaya flowers are liked by Him
especially during month of Kartik (16th to 21st October 2017.t).

A person who keeps a ghee or til oil Deepak burning throughout the month at his
house, what he has to do with even ASHWAMEDH yajna i.e he earns greater good deeds.
He gets fruit of all yajnas and fruit of taking a dip in all the great rivers
without going there.

Especially five days are of greater importance here ( Krishan Paksh trayodishi to
Shukla paksh Dwitiya, 21st October, 3.37pm to 22nd October, 6.52 am, 2017. Any
offering made on these day are considered eternal and all desires are fulfilled.

Trayodashi(17th, October, 02.27am to 18th October, 2.09 am ): Offer deepaks of ghee

at various places at night time like at ones house, in the gaushala (cowpen), under
divine trees, inside the temples, in the cremation grounds and at the banks of
rivers. These should be offered all the five days. By performing such an act, all
our ancestors who could not get Shradh and Tarpan done for them knowingly or
unknowingly get free and acquire moksh on the merit of this good deed alone.

Chaturdashi(18th October, 02.09am to 19th October, 02.13am ): Offer a ghee

or til oil deep to Yam outside the gate of one’s house at night in southern
direction. While offering it one should address Yama saying that “ A deep is being
offered to you and your wife, O Death, who holds time as a snare, you who
are son of the Lord Sun, please become happy with it.”

Amavasya(19th October, 02.13am to 20th October, 02.42am): In the morning while

taking bath rotate Lauki or Kathal over ones head a few times saying: “I am
rotating you over my head a number of times, please free me of all the bad deeds
performed by me.” After this do the tarpan of Yamraj with his 14 names like; Yamay
namah1, Dharmrajaya namah2, Mrityave namah3, Antkaya namah4, Vaivastaya namah5,
Kalaya namah6, Audumbraya namah7, Dadhnaya namah8, Neelaya namah9,Parmeshthine
namah10, Vrikodaraya namah11, Chitraya namah12, Chitrguptaya namah13,
Sarvbhootakshyaya namah14.

Prathma(20th October, 02.42m to 21st October, 01.37am): Before awaking the Lord
awaken Lakshami ji and do her poojan. Thus she will remain in the house for whole
year. lead alaxmi out of the house at night. At the start of night offer deepaks at
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiv temples, under divine trees, at the banks of rivers, inside
the gardens, in the streets, secluded ashwashala, hastishala, on the boundary walls
etc. Thus offering deepaks at night in the morning take bath and perform poojan of
Pitras and Devas with devotion.

Offer food made of curd, milk and ghee to the Brahmins and seek their pardon.

Do govardhan pooja and also poojan of cows etc. This can be done by making a small
pind of cow dung.

Dwitiya(21st October, 01.37am to 22nd October, 05.01am): Do poojan of Yam. Learned

persons do not eat food at their houses on this day. Instead they go to their
sister’s place and offer gifts to her and eat at her place. When she gets
satisfied, ones household is set free of any kind of tensions and fear of enemy for
the complete year to follow………………….Shall update it further in a few
days..................Om!

Note: Dates are for 2017. only. Next year dates will change though tithis remain
same.

SIX SCHOOLS OF THOUGHTS OF INDIAN PHILOSOPHY

SHAD DARSHAN

In the normal evolutionary cycle of life, one progresses slowly from one stage to
the next stage. One moves, from the ordinary struggle for material existence in the
world to the higher truths of existence. The attempt to unravel the higher truths
is an internal journey. An attempt to embark on such path and its understanding is
generally called Philosophy. It also means love of knowledge. Serious reflections
on such ideals by our ancient savants, sages, seers, rishis brought them intuitive
perception and various mystical experiences, which gave them a clearer and deeper
understanding of life. This seeing or experiencing got the appellation ‘Darshan’.

Almost all the darshans’ found to their dismay that life is full of misery and
hence their chief aim became to alleviate it. The drive of inner search by our
ancient Hindu sages lead them to form six different schools of thoughts which today
are called Shad Darshan. Three underlying things which are essential for it are

Tapasya (austerity.)

Shravan (attentive listening to the precepts of truth

expounded by Rishis.)

Manan (Sincere and continuous reflection on truth.)

These became the chief tools of Hindu philosophers in their quest for truth. All
hold Vedas as their prime source of inspiration for enlightenment and believed that
following it, one can surely find the truth and hence freedom from misery and
suffering.

The six schools of thoughts laid down by our ancient rishis are as follows:

Nyaya Darshan : written by rishi Gautam, around 550 BC.

Vaisheshik Darshan : written by Rishi Kanad, around 600 BC.

Samkhya Darshan : written by Kapil Muni.

Yogdarshan : written by Sage Patanjali, around 200 BC.

Mimansa Darshan : written by Rishi Jaimini, around BC 200

and

Vedanta Darshan : written by Rishi Badrayan, around 500-200 BC.

Their teachings were written in the form of Sutras, memorized and orally
transmitted by Guru to his disciple, thus there were no chances of wrong
information. Later on, various scholars wrote commentaries and expositions on them,
which were called Bhashya, Tika, Vritti or Vartika etc. in poetry and prose.
Debating with each other their own and others point of view this knowledge was
deepened and sharpened.

All differed with each other on their philosophies but they unanimously agreed on a
few points,

*Presence of human suffering,

*Need to attain total freedom from this misery and suffering,

*Belief in the law of karma,

*Life is given to improve upon our karmas to achieve higher spiritual pedestal.

One thing which was common to all the great rishis who laid down these different
thought schools was that they all were ascetics of the highest order and
continuously meditated on the higher self or atma. Thus through inner journey, they
laid bare the path to final emancipation, both through Gyan and Vigyan.
