Many of the dolls are topped with sleek tresses formed of
looped fringe (described below). But hair can be made using

Crochet each part of the doll. Most of the dolls are made up of a basic head,
dy, and arms. The patterns for these "basic parts" are on pages 94-95. Some
ve special appendages, like tentacles, tails, and top hats; the patterns for these
: included with the instructions for each doll. Some creatures also look best with
ir, so your'll want to mal<e that, too. lnstructions for creating fringed 'dos begin
page 15.
Stuff the body parts that need siuffing, usually the head, arms, and body. The
tructions for each doll will tell you what additional parts need to be stuffed. For
rffing tips, see "The lnsides," opposite.

Cauge is important because it tells you how big (or small) to
make your crochet craft. lt indicates the number of stitches
and rows per inch. Almost all the projects in this book have a
gauge of 5 sc x 5 rows = 1" x 1", meaning that there will be
5 stitches and 5 rows per inch.
