YuenWrites is an Australian Citizen. She is a fully uni-student. She is a Wattpad Star,
Watty Award Winner and featured author. She already written three published books. She is
known because of her first published book entitled “The Hoodie Girl” because of its inspiring
and motivational story. She usually wrote about fiction, particularly teen fiction because she
believes that it is much easier and better for her to write stories with genre like teen fiction
because she is still a teenager. She gets a lot of inspirations through experiences in life.

The Hoodie Girl is a Wattpad story, it was published on Wattpad Application on year
2016 and won varies of awards like Watty’s 2016 Collector’s Edition Award, TFA 2016 Runaway
Price Winner and Literary Awards 2017 Winner. Many readers could find the title not catchy, but
honestly this book deserved every award it had because of its plot that makes the book different
from many books with the same teen fiction genre.

This book tells that in every person there were always a different stories. One person’s
life is different from another person’s life. Although, you may knew someone from a very long
time, you cannot say that you knew everything about that person because sometimes what they
experienced are hard and heartbreaking that you cannot either save that person from that
moment. With that situation, you only need to gain their trust so that they can voice out their
problems to you and be able to help them with their difficulties in life. At some point, not all
people need your help, sometimes they only need your presence and to give them enough
encouragement to face every day that will come. Not all people need help to save them, maybe
they only need help to give them support and motivation so that they can save their lives on their
own.

It was so beautifully written by the author YuenWrites. Readers can get a lot of
motivation from this book especially those readers that experiencing the same situation like the
fictional characters of the story. Those people who are escaping from their dark past and
problems can find inspiration to cope up with the snags that they go through. Wren was a
character that every reader could position them to be in.

The style that the author used in writing the story was the narrative style as she writes it
in chronological manner and arranged to what happened, first thing up to last. She also used
some flashbacks since some chapters of the book tell what happened on the past of the
characters. The author also uses the dialogue style of writing since she includes the conversation
between the characters on the story, so that the readers will get the main point of the book easier
and the reader will not be confused get the ideas and morals of the story.

YuenWrites uses specific characters to influence the plot. For example, Asher Reed
influences the mind and decisions of Wren Martin. Wren is awkward in socializing and she
blocks herself to the world to lessen the pain it may bring if she may be left again. Eventually,
Wren change herself unconsciously with the help of Asher Reed. Unknowingly, Wren goes out of
her comfort zone whenever she is with him. Until she can stand all alone in a populated place
without wearing her hoodie.

The story focuses on a girl named Wren Martin who likes to wear her favorite hoodie
all the time. She was socially awkward. She blocks off herself to the world, hiding behind her
favorite hoodie, believing that if she does this, her past will never resurface. She had her own
world that is lost in the dark and loneliness. Certain circumstances lead to her meeting the
school's most notorious boy, Asher, who has his mind set to change everything she stands for,
and save her along the way.

In overall impression of the book, it was really a nice book of choice to read because it
tells the reader not to dwell in the past and appreciate the present things in life. Past will never
come back it will forever stay at the past, and if you still stay in the past you will miss the
important things in the present that may give you a better future.

This book is highly recommended to everyone, especially to those people who are same
as the character that experiences being socially awkward, blocks their self to the world and
escapes what the reality of life they had. In that way readers may see encouragement to
overcome everything they have been through. If this book will be rate from ten points or stars, it
is nine out of ten. So better read this book and be motivated and inspired by the character’s
difficulties that she faced in order to have the better version of herself.
