to lift and draw the powerful bow he possessed would become the
groom of his beloved daughter.
King Janaka : *laughs* Well, such bad luck has been cast upon you, boy!
*laughs* Next!
Lakshamana : Hey brother, right now would be the right time to try and win
Sita’s heart. Go lift that bow!
Rama : Well, I hope I have better luck than the men who tried before
me. Pray for me, brother. *goes up to the bow, lifts it, draws
it, breaks it*

this even before it was formally announced to the people. The
maid told her mistress about it.
Queen Kaikeyi : What?! This... This is impossible! Oh, what shall I do...?
Queen Kaikeyi : The two wishes I can use to get anything I desire… Yes, what
about it?
Maid : Well, ‘tis but a suggestion… But, what if, you used these two
boons to you and your son Bharat’s son advantage?
Kaikeyi : Hmm, that could actually work… If I were to use these wishes to
banish Rama, and appoint my son to the throne… Yes, Yes! It’s
absolutely brilliant! The Gods were so gracious to me for giving
me such a brilliant maid.
