HOMEWORK #1 “ IN THE TORNADO”

Answer the following questions.

1.- What is your overall opinion about the movie?

I think it was a great movie with cool actors, very entertainment and educational, so realistic on
what can happen in a storm, also the effects were pretty amazing and how a normal storm can
become a huge storm with a lot of wind, water and in some cases fire, in my opinion I liked a lot
the plot, the movie itself for being so realistic and based on natural events I loved how the
characters managed the situation and how they gave sequence to the storm itself that ended
becoming a enormous tornado with little tornados crashing into Silverton town.

2.- What do you know about tornados? in case you don´t know do some research about it and give
your opinion

Well, I don’t know a lot about tornados but here is what I know they are a meteorological
phenomenon that happens a lot in the United States they are violent air swirls generated in the
base of a storm cloud and may not touch the earth's surface or water. If it reaches the surface,(like
in the movie) it can cause damage of different magnitude. It is a mix of hot and cold air that moves
in a very violent way damaging everything in its step and moving very fast. I think the nature can´t
be contained only respected and that everybody should know how to act when this type of
phenomenon occurs.

3.- Have you ever hear about tornados in México?

Yes, I have heard about tornados because of the news and the radio I know there’s a few that crash
into certain areas in Mexico like this 7 of February a tornado happened in Juipulco and Ixtlahuaca
in the state of Mexico that took many houses and fields because it wasn’t expected and I know
about one tornado that happened the 21 of August of 1521 in the center of the country in
Tlatelolco was one of the most powerful here registered.

4.- What would you do is a Tornado occurs in Chiapas?

I haven’t thought about it yet but probably I would start begging to God that everything be alright
and for my friends and family and the same time like in the movie I would be like Oh my God a real
tornado is happening in Chiapas! And I would start filming everything I saw and I would listen to
my mom, and try to be save and be calm but I also think you never know so I’d like that in the
school or in a special emergency course they could teach us what to do before a natural disaster
or in this case a tornado because is of several importance to know how to react, how to act what
to do in the mean time, or like in the movie what to hold on to, how to cure an injury or what
happens if you’re in the eye, etc.
