standards must put into consideration, providing information on the rulemaking process used to

are absent on the said manual leaving some risk that may occur in the workplace but the
manual presented preventive measure and proper mitigation in case of emergency.
Nevertheless, the company’s manual complies with the legal standards to protect workers from
the dangers at their workplaces. The industry also promotes best practices can often guide
employers who seek greater protection for employees. Summing it all the manual covers the
following aspects and elements of safety standards:

 safe operation and maintenance of the working environment, plant and systems

 maintenance of safe access and egress to the workplace

 safe use, handling and storage of dangerous substances

 adequate training of staff to ensure health and safety

 adequate welfare provisions for staff at work.

Healthier workforces are more productive, and being recognized as an employer that takes the
health and wellbeing of employees seriously reflects positively on the reputation and culture of
any organization. Every organization, large or small, is invited to become involved in the Health
Risks at Work initiative, to identify and manage the common risks to health associated with
work activities.
