All about CNC machine
A liitle bit information about Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2019
known as TIMTOS, jointly organized by TAITRA and TAMI, there are 2 place which held
this event, which are TMTC hall 1 and hall 3, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center hall 1
and 2. There are 7000 booths on this event, creating a new record and becoming the
world’s third largest machine tool trade show in 2019. TIMTOS is an important
platform for domestic and international companies to showcase their latest product.
It also serve as a springboard to expand their businesses to the Asian and global
markets. Taiwanese leading companies such as FFG, Tongtai, hartford,
CHMER,YCM,Victor Taichung, Goodway, FEMCO, Chin Fong, SEYI, PMI, HIWIN, and
DELTA. There are also joined this event and show their latest product.

I was been there, at Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1. At that place are so
many machining tool, actually for metal forming. Such as CNC, Turning machine,
milling machine, mechanical arm, robot, etc. When I looking around, I saw many CNC
machine that using turning and milling machine tool, and there have different ability
from each other. Different company and different function. Many company combine
the turning machine and milling machine to their product. Fortunetly I come to the
FFG company, the leading company from Taiwan, if I remember. FFG was made a MoU
with many company around the world. Fair Friend Group (FFG) as known FFG was
established in 1979 and strives for excellence with the founding principles of
reliability,growth, continuous advancement, and highest quality standards. FFG
consists of three major divisions of businesses. First is machine tool division, second is
Industry Equipment Division, and third is Green Energy Division. Product ranges from
CNC machine tools, power tools and equipment, forklifts, construction machinery,

parking garage equipment, pneumatic equipment, printed circuit boards, LCD

monitors and TV. This company have a lot of products. I am lucky to meet with the ex
vice president from this company. Sorry I’m forgot his name. He tried to give
information about their CNC machine. On this event, FFG shows at least 4 CNC
products their have. First is the FEELER U-600P, 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center.

This CNC machine usually used for make part of the automotive part, such as
shown by fig 1. This machine are have features.
MPR (Multi-Pallet Round) Rotary pallet station:
6 pallet *1 layer = 6 pallet, MPR-06

6 pallets *3 layers=18 pallet MPR-18

Other features are :

1. Processing : suitable for the processing, which requires variety process but less
production quantity
2. Mixed processing: same workpiece but different processing / different
workpiece
3. Meet variety parts processing (TPS)
4. Automatic production / unmanned production
5. With APC, enhancing production efficiency
6. Reducing mold changing time / speeding up production lins changing time

Machine Ability :
1. Flushing system on top roof

Top working door for gantry loader/ATC door are available with individual
flushing design. The noozles on the top of machine are adjustable, which is
able to remove chips efficiently, also avoid chip accumulation issue.
2. High efficiency of heat removal
Inside the machine, both sides are with slant plate design, also, with internal
chip screw, which make chips removal more efficiently
3. Anti-heat structure
To meet high speed and high precision, the transmission of three axes are
equipped with anti-heat structure and coolant through ball screw (60m/mm)
4. Speed up Tool changing time
ATC is equipped with inverter to control tool changing time, T to T <L5 SEC.
Also, when tool changing, the tool changing is smooth and spindle will not be
hurt
5. Variety choices of tooling
Comparing with other supplier, for BT40, the maxi, tooling weight is 12 KG and
maxi, tooling length is 550 mm, which is suitable for high rigidity and heavy
cutting processing. Also, increasing production and making whole processing
more efficiently.

This machine was called UB-660 5-axis vertical machining center.

Their have many features such as for moving column structure :
The M-Shaped structure increases anti bend and anti – torsion of the column
the counter-weight is supported by the pneumatic cylinder. The shape of the column
is similar to the pyramid to increase the stability for moving

One piece base structure :

The rigidity of sctructure is good. The outer shape is not complicated. It is easy
for machining. The internal structure adopts the box type design to increase the
bearing capacity. The round shape hole is easy to clear sand and increase force flow.
The work tableadopts the high and low rail design to increase the rigidity

By changing the column head of the column, etc. The customer can have a
variety of opportunities to choose from

Shorten the product manufacturing process. To improve the production efficiency,

Those pictures are controller, on the left hand side it from Heidenhain, and the right
side is from Siemens.

This CNC machine was build by customer requested. Because some costumers
need big machine to make a big product. This machine combine turning and milling
process. The company who make this machine is You Ji.

At the FFG’s booth there is VR for how to use the CNC machine. It’s interesting for me,
because most of the CNC on there can not be use, just display and demo from it. So I
can try how to use it. At whole booth only this booth have this device.
