Stojan Krkuleski – clarinet

Stojan Krkuleski was born in 1986 in Belgrade, Serbia. He received his basic musical
education at the Mokranjac Music School Belgrade with Professor Aleksandar Nikolić. From
2005 to 2009 he studied at the Faculty of Music of the University of Arts in Belgrade in the
class of Professor Ante Grgin. He graduated with highest honors in 2009 and since 2010 he
has been attending Master Studies at the City of Basel Music Academy, Switzerland, in the
class of Prof. François Benda.

During his musical education, he achieved significant results in national competitions for
clarinet and chamber music. He also won many prizes in international competitions in Serbia
and abroad. Most notable are the Second Prize at the International ARD Music Competition
2012 in Munich and First Prizes in the following competitions: International Jeunesse
Musicales Competition in Belgrade 2012, International Competition Davorin Jenko in
Belgrade 2008 and 2009, International Competition for Young Musicians "Petar Konjović" in
Belgrade 2009, International Competition for Young Musicians "Ohrid Pearls" in Ohrid
(Macedonia) 2009 and International Music Competition "Marco Fiorindo" in Turin (Italy) 2010.

Stojan gained his first orchestral experiences with the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra
"Borisclav Pašćan" from 2001 to 2004. During his studiesin Belgrade, he was actively
involved in concert activities of the Symphony Orchestra of the Faculty of Music and many
chamber music ensembles. In 2005 he was a member of CEI Youth Orchestra (CEIYO) and
in 2008 he took part in the Young Artists Festival Bayreuth. In thesame period, he worked as
an intern of the Belgrade Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of the
National Theatre and the Orchestra of the Nadlenianum Opera and Theatre in Belgrade. He
currently is an intern of the Bern Symphony Orchestra.

He gave numerous recitals in Serbia and abroad. As a soloist he appeared with the Bavarian
Radio Symphony Orchestra and Munich Chamber Orchestra (in the Prizewinner Concerts of
the ARD Competition 2012), the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Serbica, the
Symphony Orchestraof the Faculty of Music Belgrade, the "Arte" Chamber Orchestra and the
Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, performing works by Weber, Nielsen, Mozart, Rossini,
Grgin and Copland.

He attended master classes with renowned artists such as Paul Meyer, François Benda,
Mate Bekavac and David Giffiths.

In Basel he has been working with professors like Heinz Holliger, Felix Renggli, Thomas
Herzog, David LeClair and others. During his masters studies at the City of Basel Music
Academy, he has taken part in many chamber music and contemporary music projects and
concerts.
