Introduction

Generally, gas absorption is a mass transfer operation that operate on current direction when
the operation occur which can be either co current or counter current. During the operation, the
gas mixture are contacted with a liquid to separate one or more component from the mixture.
Hydrodynamics of packed tower is noted by observing the pressure differential as a function
of air flow rate against each water flow rate. It is observed that the range of possible air flow
rates is going to decrease as far as the flow rate of water increase. [1]
In this experiment, SOLTEQ Absorption Unit (Model: BP 751-B) was used, this model uses
Raschig Ring as the packing medium to maximize the contact of mixture and fluid to aid in the
absorption.
