a. How do you plan to engage with and seek advice from faculty, staff and students in the
operation and functioning of MSU?

b. How will you utilize faculty expertise and knowledge in strategic planning and execution
of university initiatives? In what ways have you done this in the past?

Theme: Vision, future directions, and priorities for MSU

a. What is your view of the roles of undergraduate and graduate education at a Research I
university, like MSU?

b. What do you see as the role of the arts and humanities in undergraduate education?

c. What areas of teaching, research, and outreach/extension will you prioritize for investment
and for new faculty hires?

d. What are your views about current research strengths at MSU? How do you plan to
support and maintain these areas of strength? Looking forward, what areas of
research and technology development do you envision investing in? How do you envision
MSU continuing to improve its stature as a Research I university?
