CHAPTER 3
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This study took a survey among 100 academic strand students. This aims to find
out the perception of senior high school student on the disaster risk management of
Manaoag National High School.

Specific Question No. 1: What is the knowledge of SHS students of Manaoag NHS with
regards to Disaster-Preparedness in terms of:

a. Drills;

b. Emergency Plans (Fire exits);

c. Evacuation Area?

numerical and descriptive ratings from the 100 academic strand students of Manaoag
National High School.

Figure 1.1 shows the distribution of responses in Question No. 1. Among the 100
respondents, 63% answered fully aware. This means that 48% of the students of Senior
High School students, answered that they are fully aware that a disaster can occur
anytime while they’re at school.

Figure 1.2 shows the distribution of responses in Question No. 2. Among the 100
respondents, 59% answered aware. This means that 48% of the students of Senior High
School students, answered that they are aware that there’s a disaster preparedness plan in
their school.

School students, answered that they are aware of the emergency exits in case of fire.

respondents, 57% answered fully aware. This means that 57% of the students of Senior
High School students, answered that they are fully aware of the earthquake drill
conducted in school.

Specific Question No. 2: What are the preparations done by Manaoag National High
School as for the minimization of the damage properties and casualties in terms of:

a. Equipments;

b. School Personnel?

School students, answered that they are disaster drills done at their school, and this
