ABSTRACT

In this era, we encounter numerous road accident cases which are mostly

take place by the carelessness of the automobile users. The aim of this project is

providing safety locking system to prevent collision while opening the car door.

This is using the motorized safety locking system for automobiles and cars. This

project will be very much useful to any kind of automobile vehicles. Public

services place like all type four wheeler automobiles. The project is designed for

automatic door locking system using IR sensor. Opening and closing of doors is

always a tedious job, especially in the busy roads and busy hours while

everyone is hurry up to do their responsibilities. This project proposes a system

of automatic opening and closing of door and also providing an anti-collision

lock to prevent accidents by hitting on the door while suddenly opening the

door for the car passengers’ emergency purpose by sensing any body movement

in the rear side of the car as well the rear-lateral sides. This is achieved with

help of a IR (Infrared) sensor. A live body generally emits infrared energy

which is sensed by the IR sensor from a considerable distance. This sensing

signal is fed to a microcontroller to operate a door motor through motor driver

relay or IC. When a body approaches within the operating range of the sensor, it

sends a logical command to lock the door. The door automatically opens with a

fixed time delay, if there is no further movement within the IR operating range.

Interrupt signals are used to bring the opening of car door to the approaching

biker or cyclist’s knowledge and thus collision is avoided.
