Project Name : Policy Asset Data warehouse

Client : Progressive Insurance, USA.
Environment : Informatica 7.x/8.x, Oracle9i,

Description:

Asset Share Data warehouse is a data warehouse of asset shares and policy data for NU
Life’s with-profits business. The data warehouse is to hold the policies that are active. The entire
Asset Share Data warehouse is divided in to three releases based on source systems and Business
requirements but the data warehouse is common across the releases. Asset Share Data
Warehouse contains Sub Policy and policy level detail data and monthly snapshots at policy
level.
Responsibilities:

• Mainly involved in ETL developing.

• Development of Mappings & Mapplets with the help of the Functional
specifications (Mapping Specs) prepared by the Business Analyst team.
• Creating the technical transformation rules doc as per the mapping spec.
• Extracting data from Flat files and oracle sources and transform the data and load
the data into warehouse.
• Using various transformations like Source Qualifier, Expression, Aggregate,
Lookup, Router, Sequence generator transformations etc.
• Developing the workflows and sessions.
• Creating the Sql Scripts for performing the unit testing.

Project Name : Insurance Analysis.

Client : InsWeb, USA.
Role : Team Member.

Description:

The InsWeb insurance is one of the largest general insurance groups. The Warehouse
was build to maintain 3 years of data for different business areas like Home and Claims. When
the person mets with an accident then the claimant will claim the money depending on the policy
he has taken.
Roles & Responsibilities:

• Used ETL to standardize data coming from various sources and load the data into
the target.
• Worked on Informatica power center Designer tools-source analyzer, warehouse
designer, mapping designer, transformation developer and mapplet designer.
• Created mappings using transformations such as the source qualifier, aggregator,
expression, lookup, router, filter and update strategy.
• Implemented slowly changing strategy to manage the data in the dimension
tables.
• Workflow Manager used for creating and maintaining the Sessions. Workflow
Monitor also used to monitor and schedule the session.

Partee Insurance Associates provides homeowners insurance and life insurance for customers.
The goal of the project is to implement ETL process to load Enterprise data warehouse and
develop integrated customer data mart, which supports Business Intelligence. Informatica tools
were used to extract data from various sources like flat files, oracle.

Responsibilities:

• Involved in requirements gathering, business analysis and designing of the data

marts.
• Worked on building the dimensional tables.
• ETL processes are used to extract the data from various source including Oracle
and flat files.
• Extensively used Transformations like, Aggregator, Router, Joiner, Expression,
Lookup, Update Strategy, Sequence Generator and various other transformations.
