ISSN Reflection:Parabolic Paths of Olympic Sport

The purpose of the project for my algebra two class call,​ “Parabolic Paths of Olympic

Sport,” ​was to become familiar on how to make a equation for a parabolic equation form one of

the sport from the olympic. The sport i have choose is basketball i was going to do soccer but

their was a complication of the graphing so I changed to baseketball. When i got this project I

felt that I was not going to finish and senses this project was from last semester I need to refer

back to my old notes. Am actually not that good on creating a parabolic equation I could read the

graph but I have yet master well the parabolic equation. Some of the goals i have set for this

project was to ask for help on how to created an equation or show me step by step to have a little

recap of last semester. A goal I created for myself is to ask for help and finish the project on

time.

A couple of decisions I when doing the project was if I have done my parabolic equation

correctly. Some steps form this project was to go print the graphs and from the graph to ask for

help of how to create the equation. I complete some of the goals that I set up for myself but I

through, For this project, I had the choice to do it during class and ask for help if I needed and

use all the resource of my teacher had provided. On the other hand, the lack of time was not in

favor of me because of the question I had during the project which took time. First, I had choose

my graph and I got the numbers for the y and x intercepts. Second to converted it into standard

form in order to have the equation. Finally, I gather all my information and but in one little

packet and I have a friend to check my work.

Something that I have learn from this particular project was that we have to master how

to create a equation from just having the graph. To go back to the old notes and use wisely the

resource from the teacher had provided use and how to create a equation and answer all the

question which were given. Something am proud of myself is that ask question to classmates and

look back to the old notes from first semester. Another thing that I will excel is to have time to

work during class. Areas of improvements is the part in creating the equations and writing down

in standard form. Somethings that I would do for the next time is to do on time and dont leaves

the stuff at the last min.

I communicated ideas by asking my pears of how to write my answer in mathematical

terms and how to write an equation, and to explain the my answer in the correct terms for math. I

selected and the use of appropriate media to communicate with my classmates and get the help I

need. I investigated the world by evaluating some of the formulas to write the my equations my

conclusion and finding the model I have chosen to write my equation on.
