Personal Statement

Since the beginning of time I had a deep love with shoes. I don’t know why but ever

since I was in junior high I would look at what shoe everyone was wearing. In the old days back

then my parents didn’t have enough money to buy me the shoes I wanted, which was okay

because I understood why. So when I was in my 2nd year of junior high I would work with my

mom so I could at least get some money to save up for some shoes that were coming out in like

probably late March of 2016. I accumulated about 90 dollars and I went to the store to see if they

had them and they said that they didn’t have them till tomorrow. So I was like okay i’ll just come

tomorrow and get them. So I come back the next morning and there is a long line wrapping

around the mall to get these shoes. So at this point I was just like i am for sure not getting them. I

told my parents that I wasn’t going to get them so we left.

About 2 weeks pass and i come home from school and my mom and dad call me over to

their room. I was a little confused because they only do that when I get in trouble or something,

so I thought back and I asked myself did i do something wrong? So I decided to go into the room

waiting for them to yell at me. That wasn’t the case, as soon as I walked in I saw a box wrapped

in paper. I was pretty relieved that they told me i wasn’t in trouble. They proceeded to tell me to

open the box, so I did. And what do you know they got me the shoes I wanted. I will never forget

they they were the Thunder 14s aka Jordans. To this day I still have them hung up in my room.

Even though they are beat up and dirty.

Ever since the craze of these shoes i decided to start buying more shoes. No matter how much

they were, I bought them. I started off with a pair of store brand shoes to owning about 15 pairs

of jordans,vans,converse and adidas. It got to the point that I had no more space in my room for
my shoes. I then stopped buying shoes and got into selling them,which was a smart idea because

I was 13 with no job and I just wanted to stop depending on my parents.

When I was about 15 I was introduced to a man that played pokemon go with my cousin

and my cousin knew that this guy did and told us about him. But when I tell you this man had

money he had MONEY. He offered to buy all my shoes and I was most definitely going to take

that offer. He talked to me about how he has a shoe business and how he orders thousands of

shoes. He then offered me a job and I was so surprised because at the time I was 15 and if I

wanted a job at 15 you most likely worked at a fast food joint or something like that. Obviously I

said yes, and ever since then i’ve worked for him and his million dollar business.

Even though I get paid every three months with shoes or cash it’s still pretty cool because

buying nike merchandise is expensive and while people are buying it i’m getting it for free.

Everytime I go I get a pair of shoes myself and a pair for my family. Also I get clothes for my

cousins in Mexico. He has helped us Saldana’s out a lot. Not just my siblings and parents but a

whole entire family.
