● A5035/S4416 (Fahy/Kaplan) - Authorization of a state multi-use trails and greenways plan


● A6581 (Fahy) – Relates to the service life requirement for painting, striping and other new
infrastructure dedicated primarily for pedestrian or cyclist issue
● A6454 (Fahy) - Relates to complete street design features and funding of construction and
improvements at a municipalities' expense
● A6455 (Fahy) - Relates to penalties for striking a pedestrian crossing a street while
operating a motor vehicle
● A2045/S1213 (Gunther/Ritchie) – Limits liability for landowners with recreational uses
● A4774 (Barrett) – Adds recreational trail use to list of activities that is exempt from liability
○ Legislation that limits the liability for private landowners who allowing for public
access to their land for recreational purposes
● A1632 (Santabarbara) - Income tax credit for landowners that provide recreational access
- this bill was forwarded by the Finger Lakes Trail Council - could be used as a model to
encourage granting easements across private property for construction of new multi-use
trails (residents regularly grant access, more would though if there was reward)

● A6029/S1549 (Ryan/Kennedy) - Safe access to public roads for all users by utilizing complete
street design principles - requires resurfacing, maintenance and pavement recycling projects to
consider the convenient access and mobility on the road network of all users. (Closes complete
streets loophole)

● A283/S1439 (Steck/O’Mara) - Establishes the three-foot passing distance for cars passing vehicle

lower their local speed limit below the state speed limit.
● Roll-on service for Amtrak - Legislation requiring state-supported Amtrak services (Empire Service,
primarily) to offer space for passengers to store bicycles without a specific reservation for the
bicycle and without needing to have the bicycle disassembled and boxed.
● State/Fed Transportation Funding transparency - placing the onus on DOT to show how much of
their funding is used for bike/ped projects v. vehicular projects; also more on how much funding is
used for complete street projects (what percentage go through the complete streets checklist).

 A1270 – Creates $150 fine for parking in a bicycle lane in New York City (Would support similar
fines statewide).
