Marinduque (Tagalog pronunciation: [maɾinˈduke]) is an island province in the Philippines located in


Southwestern Tagalog Region or MIMAROPA, formerly designated as Region IV-B. Its capital is the
municipality of Boac. Marinduque lies between Tayabas Bay to the north and Sibuyan Sea to the south. It
is west of the Bondoc Peninsula of Quezon province; east of Mindoro Island; and north of the island
province of Romblon. Some parts of the Verde Island Passage, the center of the center of world's marine
biodiversity and a protected marine area, are also within Marinduque's provincial waters.

> Although Romblon is part of Southern Luzon, the Rombloanon way of life is almost completely Visayan:
thus, they have forms of art that are different from those of their Tagalog counterparts.

> Rombloanons are also known to be hardworking, religious and education-oriented.

>Rombloanons have their own dialect , which sometimes distinguishes them when speaking other
languages because of the accent

CULTURE PALAWAN

The culture on Palawan can best be described as colorful and diverse. Throughout the ages there are
different groups of people with different cultural backgrounds to Palawan arrived to build a new life.
Already faced present strains with different cultures from countries such as China and Malaysia. These
migrants brought with them knowledge which include was agriculture on the island in an acceleration of
growth. Besides knowledge, these migrants also took new habits with them. Because marriages took
place between existing tribes and immigrants, there was a cross-fertilization between different cultures.
This has led to many cultures living together in harmony.
Currently there are about seventy different cultures present in the province. These cultures are a melting
pot of different ethnic groups with influences from Asia, Spain and Africa. This mix of different cultures
has a unique, colorful culture you won’t find anywhere else.

Palawan culture is characterized by a variety of different languages, beliefs, festivals, art forms and
different tribes.

Occidental Mindoro Culture

Despite being grouped as one tribe, Mangyans differ in many ways. In comparison to the technological
advance between the two geographical divisions, the Southern tribes are more advanced as seen in their
use of weaving, pottery and system of writing. The Northern tribes, on the other hand, are simpler in
their way of living. Their language just like the whole Philippines came from the Austronesian language
family. However, even if they are defined as one ethnic group the tribes used different languages. On the
average, they only share 40% of their vocabulary words on their mutual languages. The tribes have also
varied physical and ethnogenetic appearances: Iraya has Veddoid features; Tadyawan are mainly
Mongoloid; and the Hanunuo looks like a Proto-Malayan.
