Effects of the Renaissance

The Renaissance which took place from the 14th through the 17th century, implied a

rediscovery of rational civilization exemplified by Greece and Rome during the midevil times,

which infused thought and humanistic values. The term “Renaissance”, was a classical

movement which means rebirth and encompassed a rebellion on classical-based learning. The

movement originated from Tuscany in central Italy which heavily impacted certain aspects of

life which affected political, economical, social, and cultural thinking. Although the Renaissance

involved many revolutions, it was best known for its artistic developments. The Renaissance had

3 very important values which included acts of humanism, individualism, and secularism which

helped the people change the way they viewed life.

A current global conflict that endangers the lives of many women and men is the libyan

slave trade. It was reported that men were sold at an auction for $400 which attracted

international attention on the exploitation of migrants and refugees in the North American

Country. Leaders of Libya, France, Germany, Chad, and 4 other countries agreed on a plan to

evacuate thousands of migrants stuck in Libyan detention camps. It was reported that. “The

Libyan Coast Guard — supported with funds and resources from the E.U. and more specifically,

Italy — has cracked down on boats smuggling refugees and migrants to Europe. With estimates

of 400,000 to almost one million people now bottled up Libya, detention centers are overrun and

there are mounting reports of robbery, rape, and murder among migrants, according to a

September report by the U.N. human rights agency. Conditions in the centers have been

described as “horrific,” and among other abuses, migrants are vulnerable to being sold off as

laborers in slave auctions.” Young African American men are sent off to “slave markets” to be

bought, sold, and discarded when they have no value. Due to this conflict, the country has

descended into a civil war which have splintered into several factions of militias, tribes, and

gangs.

The American Ideals have helped set change in America. As stated, the american ideals

state we all have the right to Liberty, Equality, Democracy, Opportunity and Rights. Within said,

setting these american ideals on the Libyan slave trade will help set a well organized country.

The african american men who are currently being sold as slaves all deserve to be treated equal

under the law. If Libya were to set the american ideals, it would help them run a safe country.

Men and Women have the right to seek the opportunity to succeed, the right to run their own

government, and having the right to seek freedom as they please.

The Renaissance values will also help set rule under the Libyan slave trade. The

renaissance values helped set people to believe in their own individual achievement. It allowed

them to have moral beliefs. It was a form of expression which allowed the people to be free in

the world of their own. Based on the Renaissance values, humanism was the defining intellectual

movement of the Renaissance. It was based on the belief that the literary, scientific, and

philosophical works of ancient Greece and Rome provided the best guides for learning and

living.

The Renaissance had a global impact which have affected the ongoing generations. It’s

values have helped people change the ways they view life. It gave people beliefs such as the

belief of balanced religion and human dignity was possible. Due to the renaissance, people have

believed in “rebirth”.
