observe “Zero Tolerance Day”
twice a week across the city. As
of now, the department
observes Zero Tolerance Day
two days in a month. Apart
from challans, the police will
also hold awareness talks on
Zero Tolerance days in future.
“Our only aim to organise
Zero Tolerance Day twice a
week is to catch violators who
break traffic rules across the
city. Next on our agenda is to
spread awareness messages

said they have busted a gang
that had committed 34 rob-
beries and murders in the
national Capital region. With
the arrest of six members of this
notorious gang, 13 cases of rob-
bery have been solved.

ried out a joint operation to nab
the gang members near the

Tolerance Day against traffic
violations on June 7. The num-
ber of vehicles against which

40-year-old man threw
A acid on his wife and two
daughters and then drank it to
kill himself in northeast
Delhi's Karawal Nagar, police
said on Sunday. The incident
in question was reported on
Saturday.
A police official said that
the police personnel reached
the spot immediately. They
found the body of Yashpal,
while his wife and two daugh-
ters were found lying injured.
The injured were taken to the
GTB Hospital immediately
where they are currently
under treatment, the police
said.
His wife has suffered about
40 per cent burn injuries while
daughters got partially burnt
but were out of danger, the
police said. It has been revealed
that the couple were not on
good terms and used to quar-
rel frequently, they said.
Neighbours reportedly
informed the police that a
quarrel had broken between
the couple and it soon turned
gor y when the husband
brought acid. In a fit of rage, he
threw it on his wife and daugh-
ters and subsequently drank it
himself and died on the spot.
A case has been registered in
this regard and is being inves-
tigated, the police official
