WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

1.TYPE OF WASTE
Over the course of the Project, several types of waste will be generated by land clearing activity,
construction, equipment and crews working within the Project area. All potential waste types are listed
below:

1.1 Non-hazardous waste:

a. Land Clearing
 Organic
This is degradable waste such as tree trunk, shrub cutting

b. Domestic waste
 Organic
This is degradable waste such as food waste from lunch activity
 An Organic
This is non degradable waste such as packaging, bottle, paper from office activity

c. Construction materials
 An Organic
This is non degradable waste such as, material packaging, plastics, vinyl, styrofoam,
electric wires, metal/iron scraps

1.2 Hazardous waste:

a. Solid waste
Battery or mains power, hazardous material packaging – examples: oil drum.

b. Liquid waste
Oil waste, fuel waste, lubricants waste
2. WASTE HANDLING
2.1 Non Hazardous Waste
Within the Project area the following management and mitigation techniques will be implemented
to reduce the potential for environmental effects associated with non-hazardous wastes:
1. Land Clearing
This activity will produced organic waste (such as tree trunks, shrubs, etc) which will be
dumped to designated waste disposal pit. This location will be identified with specific signage

2. Domestic waste
Site domestic waste will be stored in marked container using “organic” and “un-organic“
signage with differentiate color. Collected waste will be transported and disposed at the
temporary local public disposal box facility at the city.

3. Construction materials
On site waste construction material will be stored in clearly marked yellow container. This
material will be transported and disposed at the temporary local public disposal box facility at
the city.

2.2 Hazardous Waste

Hazardous wastes generated during the Project will be stored at special container shed within the
Project area and then it should be distributed to waste treatment company which have permit
from government. HSE officer should record the hazardous waste manifest from the waste
treatment company.

3. HANDLING OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SPILL

Employee shall refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) prior using any hazardous material and
use appropriate personal protective equipment to hazardous materials effect e.g. masks, gloves.
MSDS shall be available within the hazardous material storage and socialized to the user.

3.1 Handling of Liquid Hazardous Material Spill

 If the spill in small amounts and not spread, clean up the spill with a cloth and dispose the
waste cloth to special container.
 If spilled in big quantities and spread out, close the location of the spread with sand in the
direction of the wind to absorb the hazardous material then put sand to the special container.
 In case of impact to eye or skin wash with clean water until clean, if swallowed try to induce
vomiting
 If hazardous material (oil/fuel) spill to soil, remove the top 5-8 cm of soil. This contaminated
soil must be disposed to the special container. The hole then covered with decontaminated
soil.
