Website #1: Adaptedmind.com

 Age/grade level appropriateness: Kindergarten – 6th grade


 Usefulness of math instruction: The activities are common core aligned and include
over 300,000 math problems and explanations. Adaptedmind identifies each student’s
strengths and weaknesses. This program customizes a student learning plan accordingly.
 Positive aspects of website: Adaptedmind provides a pretest for each student to
determine the starting point in the curriculum. Students feel as though they’re playing a
game. The difficulty level is adjusted automatically helping close gaps and continually
assesses students on new and old skills.
 Negative aspects of the website: Need to become a member and pay to have your
students receive the whole program. If you are not a member, students have limited
amount of accessibility.
 Ways to expand on concepts taught in regular math instruction: Provides a customized
learning plan for each student. So student are working on what they individually need
and being challenged. This program would be great for a math workshop setting.
Students are able to work independently because if they miss a problem, a teacher
within the program explains it to them in a video.

Website #2: 10Monkeys for Teachers

 Age/grade level appropriateness: Kindergarten – 5th grade


 Usefulness of math instruction: Students play engaging games in a variety of math
topics including multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, and geometry.
 Positive aspects of website: 10Monkeys is very kid friendly and interactive. Students
really enjoy the graphics and it can be used on a wide variety of devices including
desktops, laptops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards. 10Monkey’s also includes a
progress tracker to help evaluate student’s understanding and skills.
 Negative aspects of the website: Need to become a member and pay to have your
students receive the whole program. If you are not a member, students have limited
amount of accessibility. It also includes a lot of options which could be a positive aspect,
but if you really want your students working on specific task, this could be difficult to get
them all to the right activity.
 Ways to expand on concepts taught in regular math instruction: This would be a great
website to use for small groups during math workshop or when a student has finished
the day’s work. 10Monkeys could also be a great resource for students to practice math
concepts at home and practice math fact fluency.

 Age/grade level appropriateness: 2nd grade – high school


 Usefulness of math instruction: Students play engaging games in a variety of math
concepts including multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.
 Positive aspects of website: The website is very engaging with animated movies,
exciting games and activities and even allows multi-player competition.
Multiplication.com is self-paced so it adjusts to the student’s ability and provides
reporting tools that track a student’s fluency, accuracy, and time.
 Negative aspects of the website: You do need to become a premium member to have
all ads removed and to allow access to full screen of all the games and activities.
 Ways to expand on concepts taught in regular math instruction: This would be a great
website to use for small groups during math workshop. It would also be a great resource
for teachers trying to expand on student mathematical operations and increase fact
fluency.
