Band meets five days per week during
the school day. No experience is need-
ed to be a part of our band—in fact,
most students start 6th grade band not
knowing how to play an instrument at
all! The first few weeks of the year, you
will learn about each instrument and
even get to try every single one. This pro-
cess is very helpful and important in
helping you choose the perfect instru-
ment. After you’ve chosen your instru-
ment, we will have a parent meeting to
help them get that instrument for you
and then we are off and rolling! We will
teach you everything you need to know
to play and enjoy your
new instrument.

the combined Coy and Anken-
ey Middle School Show Choir.
You must be enrolled in choir or
band to participate in show
choir. This is a non-competition
group that performs Broadway
and pop-music with choreogra-
phy for concerts and community
events. Students who are interested
in competitive show choir or Coy’s
pop a’cappella group in 7th grade
are encouraged to give the 6th
grade show choir a try!
