INTRODUCTION
Introduction
 High-speed rail / BULLET TRAIN is a type of rail transport significantly
faster than traditional rail traffic, using an integrated system of
specialized rolling stock and dedicated tracks.

 Started in JAPAN in 1964, From SHINKANSEN TO TOKYO, with speed of

145 Km/ Hr
BULLET TRAIN :In INDIA

•The proposed 534km Mumbai- Ahmedabad high-speed link,

which is in early stage of development, will be India's maiden high-
speed rail project. The decision to carry out its feasibility study was
taken in September 2013.

• During the Indian prime minister's visit to Japan in My 2013, the

prime ministers of both countries decided to co-finance a detailed
joint feasibility study for the Mumbai- Ahmedabad HSR. The Japan
Internal Cooperation Agency (JICA) was given the go-ahead for
the study in September 2013.
The Bullet Train Track
Type of Magnet Uses
This train uses superconducting electric magnets in the
vehicle to levitate and propel the train. These magnets
are cooled by liquid helium or liquid nitrogen. This
means that once electrified these magnets do not require
additional energy.
Seating Capacity & classes

 The train has three seprate classes namely buisness

class, green class, ordinary class.
 E 5 Series shinkansen train configured with ten cars
and has a capacity to carry 731 passenger.
 658 seats of ordinary class, 55 seats are of green class
and 18 seats are in buisness class.
Better for the Environment

 Less energy consumption because no rail-track friction

 Requires no fossil fuel which can harm the environment.
 Less noise pollution since the train never hits the track
 MagLev guideways and trains take up less space than
conventional trains
Two types of bullet train Technologies

 Electromagnetic suspension (EMS)

 Electrodynamic suspension (EDS)
Electromagnetic suspension (EMS)
In current electromagnetic suspension (EMS) systems,
the rail is situated between the upper and lower edges
and use electromagnets to levitate the train
Electrodynamic suspension (EDS)

In electrodynamic suspension (EDS), both the rail

and the train exert a magnetic field
COST

 According to news media, the costs for

constructing such rail lines in India are estimated
to be Rs 700-1000 million per km.

 the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route of 500 km, will

cost Rs 370 billion to build and to make a profit,
passengers will have to be charged Rs 5 per km.
Application Information
Safety
 The trains are virtually impossible to derail
because the train is wrapped around the track.
 Collisions between trains are unlikely because
computers are controlling the trains movements.

Maintenance
 There is very little maintenance because there is
no contact between the parts.
Comfort
 The ride is smooth while not
accelerating.

Economic Efficency
 The initial investment is similar to other high
speed rail roads. (Maglift is $20-$40 million per
mile and I-279 in Pittsburg cost $37 million per
mile 17 years ago.)
 Operating expenses are half of that of other
railroads.
 A train is composed of sections that each
contain 100 seats, and a train can have between
2 and 10 sections.

BULLET TRAIN WITH RELATION
TO MARKETING MIX
PRODUCT MIX
•If deemed feasible, the high-speed railway line construction between Mumbai
and Ahmedabad is expected to take ten years to complete.

•The project is expected to be implemented through a public private

partnership (PPP) mode on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer
(DBFOT) basis with Maharashtra and Gujarat state governments along with
Indian Railways as public stakeholders.

•The pre-feasibility study had projected around 26.6 million passengers using
the high-speed line in 2021 and 104 million passengers in 2041.

•The 534km line is expected to be built with elevated tracks along the existing
rail route. The major stations along the high-speed line will include Surat,
Bharuch and Vadodara. The travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is
expected to be reduced to less than two hours compared to the current express
journey time of more than six hours between the two cities.
PRICE MIX
 It will be seasonal
 It can be fluctuate according to time(flexibility)
 Auto- Price mechanism as on Airliner services
 There is no subsidy or price reduction will be done till the investment get
recovered.
 Ticket price may be equivalent to A/C First Class Ticket on Rajdhani train on
same route
PLACE MIX
Distribution channel Warehousing/ SHED
 We will buy technology directly • There will be two sheds
through the country japan. • One at virar(mumbai)
 And we will pay royalty to them • And second at mehsana
(ahemdabad)
 Our plan is to run bullet train
between ahemdabad to mumbai
PROMOTION MIX
 As a highly anticipated Project, very less advertisement campaign will be
needed.
 All Electronic and print media will cover the project in prime time as it is
very ambitious and unique project
 Promotional activities will be done at stations and through billboards
along route
 Will do advertisement on catering of railway food and station.
CONCLUSION

• We are hoping that this project will revolutionise Rail Travel

experience in INDIA and will write a new chapter in History of India .

• We will provide word class amenities and experience to our Indian

customers at a price of A/C first class and but reducing travel time by
more than half.

• We are sure that this venture will be profitable to both the Developers/
Investors and Consumers and it will be a win- win situation for all
including government.
