TEST AMOUNT OF SAMPLE INDICATOR TITRATE WITH COLOR CHANGE MULTIPLIER


NEEDED
1 ml FILTRATE Phenolphthalein 0.02 N H2SO4 (N50) Pink to Clear (pH 8.3) ml of 0.02 N H2SO4
Pf {2 - 3 drops} OR color of original filtrate
Sulfuric Acid
(Take the Red out)
1 ml FILTRATE Methyl Orange Brom Cresol Green 0.02 N H2SO4 (N50) Green/Blue to Orange/Yellow ml of 0.02 N H2SO4
Mf {4 - 6 drops} (pH 4.3)
Sulfuric Acid (Take the Green out)
1 ml MUD + Phenolphthalein 0.02 N H2SO4 (N50) Pink to Original mud color ml of 0.02 N H2SO4
Pm 5 - 10 ml of Distilled water {3 - 4 drops} or (pH 8.3) or
0.1 N H2SO4 (N10) ml of 0.1 N H2SO4 x (5)
Sulfuric Acid
1 ml MUD + Versenate hardness Buffer solution Versenate Hardness ml of Versenate Hardness Titrating
5 - 10 ml of Distilled water {20 drops} Titrating Solution Take The Redness Out Solution x (400) = mg/l
Vm Versenate hardness indicator (20 EPM) (“C”) x (400) = mg/l Ca2+, Mg2+
solution – {4 - 6 drops}
(1 ml = 400 mg/l Ca2+) Total Hardness Of The Mud
Use same 1 ml sample from ml of 0.0282 AgNO3 x (1000) = Mg/l Cl-
Cl- which the Pf was determined
Potassium Chromate
{4 - 6 drops}
0.0282 N AgNO3
or
Yellow to First permanent Red
or OR
0.282 N AgNO3 ml of 0.282 AgNO3 x (10,000) = Mg/l Cl-
Reddish color
Silver Nitrate

Total 1 ml FILTRATE Versenate hardness Buffer solution Versenate Hardness Wine Red to Blue/Gray ml of Versenate Hardness Titrating Solution
