1. Description
A. The MDC fault message R PRESS REG SOV / NO CONTROL/POS DISAGREE shows when the
right side Air−Conditioning System Controller (ACSC2) cannot control the right engine Pressure
Regulating Shutoff−Valve (PRSOV2).
The logic statement and the logic description for the R PRESS REG SOV / NO CONTROL/POS
DISAGREE (MDC Message) fault isolation task are as follow:
− Equ Descr : Right ACS controller is not able to control Right Pressure Shut−Off Valve as required,
or a disagree has been detected during the monitoring of the valve position or high
pressure has been detected downstream to the valve.
− Equ #ID : 007556
3. Possible Causes
– PRSOV2 V3 unserviceable
– Bleed air system failure
– BLEED AIR control panel PL5 unserviceable
– Defective wiring interface.

REFERENCE DESIGNATION
5. Job Set−Up
C. Connect and energize the applicable electrical power source (AMM 24−00−00−861−801).
6. Fault Confirmation
(1) To make sure that the L PRESS REG SOV / NO CONTROL POS / DISAGREE (MDC
Message) continues to show, do the steps that follow:
(a) Use a wrench to carefully move the PRSOV2 V3 lever from the fully CLOSED to the
fully OPEN position. Do three cycles.
1 If the PRSOV2 V3 lever does not move, or does not move to the fully OPEN
position, or to the fully CLOSED position, go to the Fault Isolation and do the
Possible Cause 1 − PRSOV2 V3 unserviceable.
(b) Use a wrench to carefully move the PRSOV V3 lever to the OPEN position.
(c) On the EICAS synoptic page, make sure the PRSOV2 V3 shows in the open position.
(d) Use a wrench to carefully move the PRSOV V3 lever to the CLOSED position.
(e) On the EICAS synoptic page, make sure the PRSOV2 V3 shows in the closed
position.
1 If the position of the PRSOV2 V3 on the EICAS synoptic page is not the same as
the position of the PRSOV2 V3 lever, go to the Fault Isolation and do the
Possible Cause 1 − PRSOV2 V3 unserviceable.
2 If the PRSOV2 V3 lever position is the same as on the EICAS synoptic page,
continue with this procedure.
1 If the operational test was not satisfactory, and the R PRESS REG SOV / NO
CONTROL POS / DISAGREE (MDC Message) still shows, go to the Fault
Isolation and do the Possible Cause 1 − PRSOV2 V3 unserviceable.
2 If the operational test was satisfactory, but the R PRESS REG SOV / NO
CONTROL POS/DISAGREE (MDC Message) still shows, go to the Fault
Isolation and do the Possible Cause 2 − Bleed air system failure.
(g) If the MDC fault message shows and advanced diagnostics are necessary, go to the
ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS page to find the LRU that reports R PRESS REG SOV /
NO CONTROL POS / DISAGREE (MDC Message) (AMM 45−45−00−970−817).
(h) Make a record of the label and bit combination and the (failure mode) relation to each
of the possible causes identified.
(i) If more information about the diagnostic word label is necessary, go to the DATA
READER page (AMM 45−45−00−970−817).
(j) To find the correct bit settings on the diagnostic word label, refer to the MDC Fault
Equation Report shown in the Logic / LRU Equation.
(k) If the MDC fault message does not show, no more corrective action is necessary. Go
to the Close Out.
7. Fault Isolation
A. Possible Causes
Do the fault isolation of the possible causes in the sequence that follows, as applicable:
Do the applicable fault isolation procedures, as identified in the list of possible causes, as follows:
2 If there are other fault indications, go to the Possible Cause 2 − BLEED AIR
control panel PL5 unserviceable.
(2) Possible Cause 2 − Bleed air system failure. Do the steps that follow:
NOTE: The PRSOV2 sense line is installed on the right engine, between the
PRSOV2 V3 and the wishbone duct.
1 Make sure that the PRSOV2 sense line connections are tight.
2) If the MDC fault message does not show, go to the Close Out.
b If you found no problems with the PRSOV2 sense line, continue with this
procedure.
(b) Do a check of the right pack−inlet pressure−sensor (PIPS) sense line as follows:
NOTE: The PIPS sense line is installed in the aft equipment compartment, between
the right PIPS MT10 and the right flow sensor venturi.
1 Make sure that the PIPS sense line connections are tight.
4 If you find a crack, replace the PIPS sense line (AMM 21−53−13−000−802 and
AMM 21−53−13−400−802).
a If you replaced the PIPS sense line, or if you tightened a connection, do the
steps that follow:
2) If the MDC fault message does not show, go to the Close Out.
b If you found no problems with the PIPS sense line, continue with this
procedure.
7 If necessary, carefully remove the water from the PIPS sense line.
a If you removed water from the PIPS sense line, do the steps that follow:
2) If the MDC fault message does not show, go to the Close Out.
b If there was no water in the PIPS sense line, continue with this procedure.
(c) Do a check of the right pack−inlet flow−sensor (PIFS) sense line as follows:
NOTE: The PIFS sense line is installed in the aft equipment compartment, between
the right PIFS MT11 and the right flow sensor venturi.
1 Make sure that the PIFS sense line connections are tight.
4 If you find a crack, replace the PIFS sense line (AMM 21−53−13−000−801 and
AMM 21−53−13−400−801).
a If you replaced the PIFS sense line, or if you tightened a connection, do the
steps that follow:
2) If the MDC fault message does not show, go to the Close Out.
b If you found no problems with the PIFS sense line, continue with this
procedure.
7 If necessary, carefully remove the water from the PIFS sense line.
a If you removed water from the PIFS sense line, do the steps that follow:

b If there was no water in the PIFS sense line, continue with this procedure.
2 Make sure that the 6TH−stage check valve is in good condition and that it
operates correctly.
3) If the MDC fault message does not show, go to the Close Out.
(3) Possible Cause 3 − BLEED AIR control panel PL5 unserviceable. Do the steps that follow:
