B. PROPOSAL FOR LINING FRP BOTTOM AND SHELL RING UP TO 1,45
METER ON EXISTING TANK T-32

The proposal for lining FRP required to the severely damaged bottom tank is
provided as a general guideline at this stage of the project. A detailed proposal
will be provided to meet the requirements of the tender.
Following the list of defects and damages, the repair and upgrading approach to
address the list of problems will be as follows:-

CONCEPT FOR PATCHING THE HOLE OR LEAKING

a) Surface Preparation with Garnet Blast or Steel Grit (SSPC-SP10 / NACE
No.2, surface profile 63 - 100µm or 2,5 – 4 mils) for cleaning bottom tank from
oil, grease, hydrocarbons, dirt dust, soil, water, etc.. As for the first step is
cleaning with detergen and fresh water next blasting surface of bottom tank.
b) Because part of bottom tank the surface uneven so given epoxy putty as
patch material.
c) on the exsisting steel plates which perforated and pitting do patching with new
steel plate or fiber laminate.
d) Lining with FRP layer 1 (wet lay up) horizontal direction to patched bottom
tank which pitting.
e) Lining with FRP layer 2 (wet lay up) vertical direction to patched bottom tank
which pitting.

CONCEPT FOR LINING FRP BOTTOM TANK

a) On the part of the hollow given grouting material whose strength is low, Grout
IC depth of 2 cm.
b) Primer coating with Esco NB as surface tolerant epoxy thickness 508 – 635
µm.

PT. PERTAMINA (PERSERO) TBBM SAMBU ISLAND

c) Installation FRP (815 g/m2) Layer 1 horizontal direction + resin from the
bottom up to the shell tank 1 meter, each layer to the session layer-1 overlap
by 5 cm, Resin used Kanpe Clear NF.
d) Installation FRP (815 g/m2) Layer 2 vertical direction + resin from the bottom
up to the shell tank 1 meter, each layer to the session layer-1 overlap by 5 cm.
e) Installation FRP (815 g/m2) Layer 3 horizontal direction + resin from the
bottom up to the shell tank 1 meter, each layer to the session layer-1 overlap
by 5 cm
f) Installation FRP (815 g/m2) Layer 4 vertical direction + resin from the bottom
up to the shell tank 1 meter, each layer to the session layer-1 overlap by 5 cm.
g) Part of angular between bottom and shell tank given patched with epoxy putty
so as to be in application fiber attached by flattened and there was no air
stuck.
h) Then, finish coating with Epomarine PC 100 as chemical resistance thickness
635 – 762 µm.
