Hoist Output Pinion Assembly Featuring an Improved Grease Relief

Description of Change:

An improved hoist output pinion assembly is now available to support all 7495 Electric Rope Shovel models.
The assembly incorporates an inner compliment grease relief passage that purges spent bearing multi-purpose
grease (MPG), and mitigates the MPG from penetrating past the shaft seal and mixing with the hoist drum
gear-set open gear lubricant (OGL).

The new Hoist Output Pinion Assembly (17 Tooth) 4354617 was implemented in production effective with 7495
Shovel S/N ER601521, Lot 214.

Hoist Output Pinion Assembly 4354617 is also available for field retrofit of existing 7495 Electric Rope Shovels.
The new parts requiring, and wear items to consider, replacement during the hoist output pinion assembly
upgrade are defined in Table 1.

Installation:

Please note during installation of the hoist output pinion assemblies that the connection location for one of the
external MPG drain hoses has moved as shown in Illustration 2.
