Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Engagement:
I would allow my students to ask me to stop the game whenever they have questions; or depending on the
class, I would let the students decide if they wanted to do the Kahoot together or independently.
Representation:
This Kahoot uses lots of animations and pictures so that will help some students. I could also read my
students all of the answer choices before they have to pick an answer.
Action and Expression:
After my students have completed the Kahoot game and have mastered their colors, I would let each student
draw a picture using all of the colors they just learned about.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Prior to the SRT activity I will have my students walk around the classroom and identify objects by their color.
I will also show my students objects and have then tell me what color the object is. The SRT activity will be
how we wrap up our unit on colors so I can make sure each student knows their colors.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☐ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

Student Response and Assessment Tools
During the SRT activity, my students would be following along with the Kahoot on their own tablet. They will
look at the question and pick the answer that they think is correct. I would be reading the students the
questions and answer choices. The Kahoot should not take more than ten minutes.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☐ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):
My questions are listed in my Kahoot game.
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
☐ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☐ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
I will select the correct answers prior to the class doing the SRT activity so that my students can see what all
they have learned throughout the unit.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT activity I will congratulate my students on learning all of their colors.
How will the data be used?
The data collected as a result of this activity will be used to give my students a grade for mastering their
colors. I would then make each student a certificate to take home to their parents that says that they have
mastered their colors!
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I have never used a Kahoot to test my students for a grade before, so I am hoping to learn whether or not this
works well. I hope that my students will learn that they have all mastered their colors and should be proud of
themselves.
Reflective Practice:
I think that this activity will impact student learning because they are getting an understanding that they truly
have mastered their colors. This will give my students a sense of accomplishment and make them want to
learn more in the future.
