Worked for Electric Switch (Deluxe) DVD authoring company in Soho, London, in the QA (Quality
Assurance) testing department, using a DVD emulator programme and DVD players to test for bugs in
functionality, navigation and video/audio quality. This work included films for Paramount, Universal and the
BBC.

Worked full-time for Waterstone's bookshop in Ealing Broadway dealing with all goods-in for the store,
which involved accepting and unpacking deliveries, entering all stock into the system and organizing
stock into the correct departments.

Worked for Stream Digital Media, a leading UK DVD authoring company who were part of Ascent Media.
There I worked as a Quality Control tester for video/audio runtimes and Navigation of DVD menus. This
was the same type of work as done previously at Electric Switch

(05/09 – 08/09) Worked for the From Boyhood to Manhood Foundation in Peckham, south London as a
youth support worker and teacher. I was employed as the music and media teacher, which involved creating
a scheme of work and teaching music technology, video and general media to boys who had been
permanently excluded from school. As well as teaching lessons I was a general youth support worker
involved in assisting students in other lessons and helping to run activities and recreation. I was also
assigned three students for whom I was their Key worker. This involved having one to one session with the
students in regard to their education, behaviour and their route back into mainstream education. I would
also be in contact with their parents and schools.

Additional Teaching Experience

I spent a semester in a secondary school in Clapham, south London doing a teacher training course as
a music teacher from September 06. This course involved lectures and assisting in classes in the
school, helping to plan and deliver lessons and help individual students and groups in practical work

Studied and completed a TESOL course at St Giles College in London. This involved a full- time course
studying to teach English as a foreign language. It involved studying English Grammar to a high level as
well as learning the skills necessary to teach a group of people in a classroom. The TESOL qualification is
British Council certified.

Filming Experience
I have been a freelance Runner and Sound Operator for Sola Films Production Company over the last
five years and have worked on a number of shoots. This would involve going on location, setting up,
booming and recording audio, and camera assisting often for short documentaries or small commercial
productions. This work I have done on various occasions over the years.
Through studying my Msc in Digital Media Production I gained a lot of experience in film making,
camera work, 3D animation and website design. My dissertation project was based around using green
screen, match moving software combining live hand held camera work with a virtual 3D environment.
Last year I set up a small video production company doing video work for live gigs, festivals and workshops
in my spare time.
Through my teaching role at Reading College and BCA I have had the opportunity to refine and pass on all
the skills I have picked up to students and has given me some great experience The courses I have taught
included journalism, film, advertising, news production, green screen/ keying, video filming techniques,
audio recording techniques audio and video editing as well as media and film theory..

Computer Experience
I am very computer literate and able to use both Apple Macintosh and PC computers and the following
programs: (music production) Pro-Tools, Logic Audio, Cubase, Ableton Live, Reason, (creative) Adobe
Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, Audition, Final Cut

Musical Experience
I produce music of different styles on my home studio using Logic Studio on a which I make using a mix
of live instruments and digital production. I have experience of recording and mixing down live bands and
experience of recording vocals of singers and MC’s
I mix records and have done some DJ’ing work in my spare time for people’s parties and at a small
festivals.
I studied a sound engineering course at the Islington Music Workshop where I gained a diploma and
learnt how to record and mix down live bands to a professional standard using pro-tools and analogue
mixing desks
I learn West African Jembe drumming as well as Brazilian Samba Reggae drumming. I play with a Brazilian
Samba Reggae group called Tribo with whom I travelled to Brazil and had performances in Salvador, Bahia
(north east Brazil). I also helped with workshops for young people in Salvador (feb’09). We have played at
various carnivals and festivals, the biggest being the Notting Hill Carnival, where we played as part of the
main procession. I Performed at the Salvador Carnival in Brazil in feb’10, which was a great experience and
quite an honour as a European based group.

Further Experience
I have staffed on camps for children in the summer, in various parts of the UK, for a charity organization
called Forest School Camps, for the last twelve years. The camps involve living in fields, cooking food on
fires, going on hikes, playing games, music, running activities and learning skills. This involved working
with children from the ages of 7 to 17 on camps of about 80 – 100 people. As a staff I work in a group of a
specific age range but I am also involved with the whole camp. The organisation and was set up to take a
different approach towards children’s education. I camped for 4 years as a child and then started staffing at
18. I have also done two canoeing mobile camps with this organisation and have done two summer camps
specifically for children with special needs. These camps involved working with children who had a
range of mental and physical disabilities and I found it to be a very rewarding experience

Personal Attributes
I am a friendly, approachable person who is able to work well on my own and as part of a team. I am a good
communicator and I like to enjoy the work I do and get on with the people I work with. I feel that I am an
understanding person who has patience and time for people and I like to feel that my work is having a
positive impact.
