Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

The honorable Mrs. Cholis as our lecture,
And all of my friends who I loved.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent and the Merciful. All praises be to Allah SWT,
the lord of the world, the master of the day after, the creator of everything in this Universe,
where he has no partner. He has also given us such deeply enjoyable, particularly faith and
healthy comfort, hence, we could attend here in a good situation.
Peace and Salutation be up on our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has taught us the
cardinal principles of the unity of God, obliged us to confess it with the tongue and believe it
in the heart. He also has brought us from the darkness to the brightness, from stupidity to
cleverness, in the other word “Minazzhulumaati Ilannuur”.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Indeed, it is very great pleasure for me in this precious chance to deliver my speech to
the most honorable audiences entitled: “Save our culture, save Indonesia alive”
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Culture is not something to be taken lightly. You may say that it’s just another piece
of art, same like modern rap and break-dance, but inside the outer layer of that paradigm,
culture is on a whole other level. Cultures are values and norms, shaped by time and
perfected by its people, creating a specialty, a face, an identity and are contained within the
dances, the arts that we see today. Culture to me is what made you the person that you are
today. Culture is the background and history of a person that become a reason of who they
are and what they stand for. Identity to me is the certain characteristics that belong to a
person that makes them different from everyone else on this planet.
Ladies and gentlemen,
What we know about our culture, how much you know about it, or have you learn
something even only one traditional culture in Indonesia? The answer is not many people
understand about their own culture. And the fact today many people prefer to love the foreign
culture than Indonesian. Did everybody know that we got identity crisis? We almost lost our
culture because of our changing today? Did many people realize that culture is treasure that
we should preserve from the ancestor?
The reason why we should preserve our culture today is because Indonesia seems lost
the identity. Today the next generation do not proud to show their identity, colors and culture
because they are easily influenced by cultures from other countries. Is that what we want
ladies and gentlemen? A few years later we will not see and feel our culture but just heart he
Indonesian culture from the past in history. Our cultures are became claimed by another
countries for many times, because an instance from the government’s and our people’s
failure. This fact can happen because we do not give the law and act to protect our culture.
We do not have a big anger to protect what we have from the ancestor. Many people do not
care about our culture but getting angry when other country claimed our culture. So what
happen with us? If others country loved our culture more than us, what we can do if we do
not do anything to preserve it then we got angry if we lost it? That’s our failure ladies and
gentlemen.
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
 There are many young generations that do not care again about our traditional culture.
They has stirred up by the modern culture from the another west countries, they do anything
only for watching the concert, following their idol attitude in foods, fashion, dance and song
than preserve and learn traditional art of Indonesia. That’s what we call with the degradation
culture happen in Indonesia. From time to time western culture is increasingly widespread
and easily absorbed by our society.
No matter the culture was damaging or not, but our society seems to prefer to deal
with cultures beyond that of preserving the culture of Indonesia. Today many teenagers love
Korean culture more and more than our culture, right? They prefer choose break-dance and
K-pop dance than Indonesian traditional dance, right? You feel proud if you eat western food
than Indonesian food, that’s what we call degradation culture. This must be addressed
carefully because if this practice continues without a screening process and control, it is
certain that the culture of Indonesia shall be burned in name. These problems arise not
because of external factors, but arise from their personal self citizens who seemed
embarrassed and considered ancient culture.
So as the next generation I am standing here to open your mind to realize that our
culture is becomes our live, culture is a gift from the ancestor to show who you are and what
your color to the world is. Let’s preserve our nation, let’s preserve our culture by love it more
and more. International world realize Indonesia is rich with the diversity, we have many
interesting art, food, and awesome natural view so don’t be shy as Indonesian next
generation.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Before ending this speech, let me conclude the essential points of my speech. Culture
is our identity that we should preserve to save our nation existence in the world. Young
generation should realize about the important of preserving our culture, if you feel anger
other country claimed your culture so keep and preserve it well. The government should build
up the society nationality by promoting our culture to the earlier age in the school and
environment. The governmental so should control the law to protect our culture and create
the screening process for our young generation from west culture. Let’s preserve our culture
by show it proudly to the world.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I think it’s completely enough for me to this point. The wrong utterances are caused
by limitation of my ability and the right one is merely from Allah. So, I beg your pardon,
finally I say
