ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE

1. RATIONALE :

Due to the liberalization policy there is a rise in the establishment of new medium and large scale industries. Modernisation of old industries are also in progress. These industries require highly skilled technicians/ engineers basically expert in electrical installations commissioning and testing of newly purchased modern electrical equipment/ machines or process instruments for establishing new industries and for modernisation of old (running) industries.

The technician should be able to prepare foundation ( proper size and height) for installation of electrical equipment/ machines, meters, process instruments etc. He should be able to test various equipments before commissioning and after commissioning as per specification of machines/ instruments as per I.S. He should carry out electrical and mechanical test and prepare test reports.

He should also have expertise in maintenance of electrical equipments and machine. Efforts are made to develop these skills in the students through this course.
