Kids Bike Parade & Contest

APPLICATIONS REQUESTED BY JUNE 28th OR ON EVENT DAY

Bring the whole family downtown to watch or participate in the 4 th of July parade, patriotic fun and activities
starting at 11:00 a.m. The parade includes kids on decorated bikes, tricycles, wagons, and others.
Kids Parade & Contest Rules
 Age categories – 3 to 7, 8-11 and 12-14.
 Parade Line up and Sign-In Table at Thoroughbred Square.
 Ages 3 to 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
 There will be a prize for the winner of each age group. Judges will look for use of red, white and
blue, creativity and originality.
 Costumes may be worn but must not interfere with rider’s vision.
 Decorations must be attached firmly and not interfere with safe operation of unit.
 Bikes can be 2 or 3 wheels (training wheels are permitted).
 Units must be in safe, operating condition.
 Bike riders must wear bicycle helmets at all times. Other safety equipment is optional, but all
equipment must be provided from home.
 Entrants must ride their bike or walk along with it.
 Application form must be signed by parent/guardian and turned in advance or at sign-in table.

WAIVER STATEMENT: The City of Versailles, a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the State
of Kentucky, is the sponsor of the Fourth of July Parade. The undersigned agrees to assume all risks
associated with said parade, that they will not hold the City or its organizers liable for any loss, damage and/or
actions the undersigned sustains by participation in the parade, and will indemnify, defend and hold the City of
Versailles and its sponsors, volunteers and organizers harmless for any loss the City may occasion by the
virtue of their participation thereof, including any liability due to the possible City or sponsor negligence. I have
read the City of Versailles Parade rules and agree to follow them. I understand that failure to follow these rules
could result in the termination of the parade and my participation in this and future parades in the City of
Versailles, KY. Further, I hereby grant permission to presenters, promoters, and all other persons and entities
associated with the event to use any photographs, video, or any other record of this event involving me for any
purpose.
