FOREWORD

Student Teaching is a college- supervised instructional experience;

usually the culminating course in a university or college undergarduate
education or graduate school program leading to teacher education and
certification.

In the field of education, practice teaching is the actual teaching and

dealing with personal in the school; the principal or school head,
faculty and staff, utilities, parents and most especially the students. It
is the time of applying learned theories, activities, teaching strategies/
techniques, methods and approaches on how to deal with the teachers
and learners. It is the most awaited and challenging moment of students
taking up edication. Student teaching is a process of handling and
teaching children in the real classroom set- up. It measures the ability
and capabilities of each individual and it evaluates and determines how
much learning the concept and knowledge of the teaching profession.

This portfolio includes the experiences met, the school

activities, community services, journal entries, photo galleries and
accomplishments done in the time of practice teaching at Balite

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

Education is what I believe that we need to possess; an

education that is unique experience of an individual; an experience
that will enlighten their lifestyle. I believe that a teacher is a chef
that formulates the ingredients of a dish, which is the true education,
which will be digested of a learner and makes them full. Those
ingredients contain the commitment of a teacher, friendly
environment, and smooth relationship to the other stakeholders.

Commitment of a teacher. I believe that when you are a

commited to something, you have the sincerity in doing such. Being
a teacher is not an easy as giving- receiving. You, yourself, must be
equipped enough in mastering the subject matter including the
different strategies in teaching, considering the diversified learners,
and varied techniques in order to cater the needs of the students. In
addition, you should have the involvement and loyalty to your field
including the refinement of your personality that may a student
followed.

Friendly environment. Having amiable nature can create a

good teaching- learning process. Achieving good rapport between
teacher- student and vice versa, teacher- teacher, and teacher-
faculty and vice versa is a helpful way in making an institution a
decent place. By this a teacher can build a conducive learning
environment for the students.
Smooth relationship to other stakeholders. I believe that
stakeholders are good components to comply the true education.
Parents are the one who has the authority of their child. They are
the first one who can influenced the ignorance of a child. Also the
Government officials are the one who provide us a safety
environment, they can support us for the different school activities,
and financially provided espcially when students are having an
outdoor learning/ activiies.

Those ingredients being mentioned, our disd is ready to serve in ll

schools. With true education, learners as well as educators, are be well-
developed intellectually, socially, personally and ethically.

As a becoming teacher, I am committed to fulfill my responsibilities

in preparing myself for the real world that I am going to take. To be
equipped academically and to be the best ethical role model I can be. With
God’s guidance, I am ready to take any risk for providing the needs of my
future students and molding them to be a productive citizen.

SYNOPSIS
THE COURAGE TO TEACH
Parker Palmer

Teachers choose their vocation for a number of reasons: love of a

subject, a desire to share one’s passion with others, care for young
children, interest in understanding the human mind, or to have a say in
shaping the next generation. But the demands of teaching cause many
teachers to lose heart. Is it possible to remain in this demanding profession
without losing heart?
In the Courage to Teach, Parker Palmer takes teacher on an inner
journey toward reconnecting their vocation and their students – and
recovering their passion for one of the most difficult and important of
human endeavors. This book builds on a simple premise: good teaching
cannot be reduced to technique; good teaching comes from identity and
integrity of the teacher.
Palmer points out that when we consider teaching, we often begin with
the ‘what’ question - what subjects shall we teach? When we delve deeper,
we ask the ‘how’ question - what are the methods to teach well? Next, we
ask the ‘why’ question - for what purposes and ends do we teach? But,
rarely, if ever, do we ask the ‘who’ question - who is the self that teaches?
How does the quality of my selfhood form - or deform – the way I relate
to my students, my subjects, my colleagues, my world? How can
educational institutions sustain and deepen the selfhood from which good
teaching comes?
Good teaching comes in various forms but good teachers seem to share
an important trait: ‘they are truly present in the classroom, deeply engaged
with their students and their subject’. They ‘are able to weave a complex
web of connections among themselves, their subjects, and their students,
so that students can learn to weave a world for themselves’. Palmer writes
of his own mentor, who seemed to break every ‘rule’ of good teaching –
he lectured non-stop, there was little room for questions or comments, he
listened poorly to students because he was keen to share his own
knowledge of the subject. Yet he was an inspiring and effective teacher.
Later, in his teaching career, Palmer tried to emulate his professor’s
methods but failed. He writes: As we learn more about who we are, we
can learn techniques that reveal rather than conceal the personhood from
which good teaching comes.

Palmer discovered that dialoguing was more integral to his being than
non-stop lecturing, a method that was coherent with his mentor. A method
of teaching derives its merit largely from its integration with the teacher
who employs it.

REFLECTION

Every people have the capabilities and potentials to be a teacher, but not all
have the courage to be one. Being a teacher is not an easy job, it takes our
passion, our dedication and our determination to mold diverse individuals into
better citizens of the society and shape them for the upcoming generation. It
encompasses our courage and our bravery to face daily challenges in the actual
scenario of teaching. We cannot refute the fact that in the field of the classroom,
the behaviors and attitudes of the students, the collaboration and good
relationship to our colleagues, etc., but as long as we are courageous enough
because we believe we can do it, we can surpass everything in God’s will.

On the other hand, Parker said that good teaching cannot be reduced to
technique but from the identity and integrity of the teacher. Yes, it’s true, good
teaching cannot be measured only through the techniques and methods but also
the personality and totality of the teacher. The teacher serves as the center in
good teaching because everything could not be possible even the application of
approaches and methodologies if there’s no facilitator that will facilitate the
teaching-learning process because according to Parker Palmer,” the more we
learn about who we are s teachers, we can learn techniques that reveal rather than
to conceal the personhood from which good teaching comes.”

GOOD TEACHER

Nicolas Gage

Teachers have the very important responsibility of shaping the

lives of young, impressionable children. With this responsibility
comes great pride and joy. Therefore all teachers should strive for
what can be considered to be “good teacher”. A good teacher can be
defined as someone who always pushes students to want to do their
best while at the same time trying to make learning interesting as well
as creative. A positive or negative influence from a teacher early on in
life can have a great effect on the life of a child. Teachers, especially
at the elementary level, must be very creative with their teaching
styles. Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in
the same things. It is difficult to keep the attention the attention of 15-
20 children under the age of ten. Classroom setup and design is a good
way to get and keep the attention of students. Workstations are a good
way to encourage different types of learning. By allowing children a
chance to choose which activities they want to participate in, children
are taking control of their own education. At the elementary level,
children are always learning and sometimes don’t even know it.

When I was in kindergarten, I can remember playing at the

different stations in the classroom. One station was for gardening and
we could plant seeds and check them every day to see how much they
had grown. Another station in that classroom that sticks out in my
mind is the arts and crafts station. There was a large array of crayons,
markers, scissors, construction papers and building materials we could
use to make pretty decorations to give to our parents for our homes.

By choosing which station we wanted to work at, we were

becoming much more interested in what we were learning because we
were becoming much more interested in what we were learning
because we were doing what we wanted to do, not what we had to do.

Passion and preparation are the key factors on which I focus

my teaching. Showing passion for teaching and helping students and
being prepared, organized and ready for any situation, has helped me
to run a successful classroom. In my opinion, a successful classroom
consists of eager, enthusiastic students ready to participate in
discussion and work together with their fellow classmates to achieve
a common goal. This classroom consists of curriculum that is not only
challenging but also rewarding. The students in this classroom feel
comfortable and confident in asking questions and seeking guidance.
My success as a teacher is not met until all my students are provided
with the opportunity to succeed.

life/

REFLECTION

A good teacher should have the ability in teaching and in handling the
students in the classroom. A good teacher should possess the qualities of
being a role model to the learners and must also possess in himself all
qualities that makes him a good teacher.
In order to teacher well, the teacher himself should display vast and deep
knowledge of the field and most importantly he should be brim with good
attitude and mannerism. Because intelligence is useless without attitude.
He must be able to clear away students’ fear of studies and to turn them
into store-houses of knowledge without which a refined and higher life
cannot be lived.
An ideal teacher should have unbounded love and affection for his
students. He should be on who can be easily approached by them, for he
should truly b their friend, philosopher, and guide. A good teacher must
teach not only the topic but also the values in life. He is able to relate
lessons to actual life situations.
He should be able to inculcate certain virtues among students, such as
regular studies, punctuality, care of health, equal emphasis on reading and
writing, perseverance, kindheartedness, and the like.
EDUCATION
Annick M. Brennen, MA

Education is the most important and most noble of human

endeavors. All other activities have their foundation in education.
Education is so important that it will continue even in eternity. It enables
human to achieve their fullest personal, spiritual, mental, social, and
physical potentials. The ability of being educated is what distinguishes
humans from animals. Education transforms an individual and allows
her to effect change in her environment.

To discover the varied facets of education, we shall review a few

definitions of education.

Education is a continuing voyage of discovery, an everlasting

quest to achieve the fullest wisdom and stature that GOD meant for us.

Education according to George Knight (1980) is a lifelong

learning process that can take place in an infinite variety of
circumstances and contexts.
According to Kleining (1985), education is “The range of
activities both formal and informal whereby people are initiated into or
realigned with the evolving traditions, structures, and social relations
which are taken to constitute education.”

Education should equip an individual to become a rational,

willing agent, who is able to participate in and change one’s world with
a realistic understanding of its possibilities.

Peter (1975) wrote: “Education consists in initiating others into

activities, modes of conduct and thoughts which have standards written
into them by references to which it is possible to act, think and feel with
varying degrees of relevance and taste.”

Reflection

Education is truly the key to success. It is only the treasure we

could have that couldn’t be stole from us. Education is no big deal to
be achieved if one is willing to learn. Education could not only be
gathered from school but in all things, that surrounds us that offers us
new things to discover. Even our personal experiences such us our
failures, achievements could offer us lessons to be treasured of.
Education really change the way we are. By this, we are taught how to
deal things which could be far from our own perception. Through
education, we recognized many things, people, events and others which
we never intended to known before. This education offers us
everything which turns to be a big deal if ever we missed these things
in our life. We must remember that half of our lives were composed of
these things we learn from school and in our community.
Education molds us in a way that is too far from our expectation
for ourselves. There are others who change because they know
something which is far different before, but then it is the true power of
education. Education change us into a better person, to be a role model
in the future, the one to be proud of, and the one who is fully equipped
to face the reality, full of lie and mystery this world has offers.

All in all, this education is only the weapon that could make us
survived in this evil world. Education could not be earn by being a
hardworking, good and kind person here on earth but by being willing
to learn from the things that comes along our way though it’s too far
from our expectation in other words it’s not what we have been
expected.

CAREER PLAN

Five years from now, I already have a licensed in Professional

Teachers and I would have a job as a Teacher in a certain school. A
job that would surely makes the world go around, because I believe
that God has a perfect plan for me.

I would be handling diversified learners that has a unique

ability in learning. I will be patient enough with dealing with them and
use variety of teaching strategies just like the old times when I am still
a practice teacher. I will mold my students as a useful citizen that not
only their parents would be proud to them but also the entire people in
the society. I will join different seminars that would enhance my
capabilities, knowledge and skills in teaching especially in the field of
Science.

By that time also I am already graduate in my master’s degree.

I am starting to conduct some Scientific Research Paper which is very
useful for the other people and to the society. I will also enroll in UP
– Los Baños for my doctorate degree.

This time also, I can already help and give the needs of my
family. These things would be hard enough to realize if I am not
committed with God. I know that God would grant this simple request
into a reality.

COMMUNITY

OUTREACH PROGRAM

Last December 18, 2016, the STASS officers, coordinators,

BSEd - co- team leaders and the rapporteurs had a community outreach
program to the mamanwas in Brgy. Jubgan, San Francisco, Surigao del
Norte. The theme of the program is “Gugma alang sa Mamanwa,” in which
we decided that we will give some bundle of joy to the mamanwa people.
Before that time, we planned first for the activities that we are going to do
their and some gifts for them. This program was intended to share our
blessing to them and to give joy and knowledge to the mamanwa people.

On that day, everything was well prepared, we arrived in the

mamanwa village at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning. We arrange the
things that we bring especially the food and the gifts for them. After a few
minutes, we started our program. My co- team leaders and the rapporteurs
who were assigned in the different activities, like the girls were assigned
to have a literacy program for the children and some games for the children
and to the parents, backyard gardening was assigned to the boys and the
cleaning of the surroundings. The literacy and parlor games were held in
the multi- purpose hall in the mamanwa village, where we conduct
spelling, reading, and different games. The boys proceed to their assigned
task. They brought different seeds that they planted in the garden of the
village, then after that they clean the surroundings.

After the different activities, we distributed the snacks and lunch

that we prepare for them, then we the team leaders together with Dr. Cases
D. Dalaygon, Ma’am Marivel Catacutan and Dr. Hayde Fabroa also give
the bundle of joy to the different families of mamanwas.

We observed in their faces that they were very happy to the different
activities that we conducted and for the small blessings that we gave to them.
As I see their happy faces I thought to myself that it really feels good to share
our blessing with other people and I am very lucky enough because I can eat
3 times a day and I can buy some things that I want.

We went home after we finished the different activities for that day.
We went home with a big smile painted in our faces because we were able
give joy and happiness to other people especially to the children. We also
bring with us the memories and stories of the mamanwa people that will surely
motivates us to continuously help those who are in need.

Spiritual

Enchancement Seminar
On February 19, 2017, we, my fellow student-teachers attended the
Spiritual Enhancement Seminar at Brgy. Oroc, Surigao del Norte. It was
started by an opening prayer, led by the BEED student. Our first speaker is
Dr. Rouselle John Talingting, he shared about Joseph: The Man with a Divine
Purpose. He shared a lot about the life of Joseph and we student-teachers are
so thankful to the Lord because he sends his instrument Dr. Rouselle John
Talingting to teach us through Joseph’s Life. It encourages us through his life
to seek Lord intimately and to the Lord for every situation that comes into our
life.

Our next speaker is Dr. Alfred Mantala. He shared to us his

experiences and hindrance or challenges that he encountered in his life. He
asks us some question like: Why do you want to be a teacher? Do I really
want to be a teacher or other want to become one? It is really your personal
choice of becoming a teacher? How do I feel that I’m about to graduate as an
education student? After that, he as 3 volunteer to share about the questions
that he had given. We listen attentively and inspired as my fellow student
teachers volunteer to share about their experiences and challenges in life. It
was so inspiring and encouraging for us as student-teachers or future teachers
someday and it will be.

In the afternoon, Fr. Yohanes Dua Danibao SVD started his spiritual
talk with joyful songs. He quoted this verses Psalm 149:3 “Let them praise
his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him”. After that, opening
prayer follows via multimedia presentation. Fr. John discusses about the
purpose of man in a simplest way. He relates his sharing by a parable of a
PENCIL. This parable inspired me because it encourages us to know that we
are special person, with unique God given talents and abilities.
Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish. Never
allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and
cannot be changed and like the pencil, always remember that the most
important part of who you are is what's inside of you.

Fr. John showed a lot of video presentation not only about the
sacrifices of our Lord but also the status of living of our brothers and sister in
other country. I felt broken when I saw this video because they have no foods
to eat, no water to drink and no houses compared to us. And I came into this
conclusion on how we are going to help them? As Christian we must extend
our hands to them. I remember that the church celebrated the Extraordinary
Jubilee of Mercy last 2016 and I think we must continue this. We must follow
the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy: Feed the hungry, Give Drink to the thirsty,
Shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the prisoners, bury the dead and give
alms to the poor. By this way, our life will be meaningful.

Last part of the Spiritual Enhancement Seminar is the Holy Mass. This
mass is the highest form of prayer in such a way that we directly encounter
Jesus Christ in His real presence in the Eucharist.

LECTURE – 54 HOURS
(Oral/Written/Reporting)
The subject FS-7 (Student’s Practice Teaching) is one of the
requirements that we have to finish before our deployment in different
cooperating school by reporting. Every group are required to report the
assigned topic located in the FS-7 manual that will help us to be well-prepared
in the coming real life situation of teaching which is to be a practice teachers.

Lesson I is all about Student Teaching that tackles on its meaning

which is the last phase of pre-service training which provides student-teachers
the chance to try and test their “educational-how” and teaching skills in
school. In this lesson, we will know the duties and responsibilities of the
supervisor of student teaching as well as the cooperating school. In lesson II
entitled the School and the Classroom Environment, we are given the
opportunity to review some types of school and classroom environment, and
the different learning environment that we may encounter in the real situation
of teaching. Lesson III entitled The Teacher and The Principal encompasses
the functions and roles of the Teachers and the Principal as part of the
Educational Community. How they are related and how they are significant
in the students learning and what they can do to make the learning possible
and effective.

Lesson IV entitled The Learners, we are given the chance to know the
different learners that we may encounter during our practice teachers in
different cooperating school that we may assigned. Through this lesson, we
are introducing to the 5 elements of learners which is the ability, aptitude,
interest, family and cultural background, and attitudes and values. And, we
know the different types of learners like visual learners, auditory learners,
read-write learners, and kinesthetic learners. Lesson V entitled
Classroom Management and Discipline, through this topic; it tackles
about the importance of classroom management, how to manage a classroom
effectively, classroom management techniques, tips for achieving and
monitoring discipline, and common discipline method for the preparation on
how we are going to manage the classroom effectively in the real situation of
teaching. Lesson VI entitled Vision/Mission/Goals and Objectives this will
tackle about the VMGO of every school as a guide on what kind of students
that they have soon. Lesson VII entitled Lesson Planning; it tackles about the
importance of lesson planning, parts of the lesson plan, types of lesson plan
and the different Deped forms. Through this topic, this will help us as a guide
on how we are going to conduct our daily teaching inside the classroom. This
will help us to accomplish the all the forms correctly and with care since these
forms are confidential data and should be treated as such that is necessary to
all practice teachers to be fil-up. Lesson VIII entitled Teaching
Strategies/Motivation are being tackled for us to choose what best strategies
and motivation are going to use that will suit to our learners. Other lessons are
entitled Instructional Materials, The Recitation and The Art of Questioning,
The Assignment/Project/Activities, Co-curricular and Extra-Curricular
Activities, The Teacher and His Role in Guidance, Conference, Assessment
and Evaluation, and the last lesson is the Community Extension Services.

All topic really did help us because we have learned many valuable
information’s through reporting because everyone did a good job in delivering
the assigned topic since we have different strategies and motivation that is
being used to make the discussion more energetic and informative.

First week (Dec. 1-2, 2016)

This is the first week of our practice teaching. The school Coordinator,
Mrs. Alma Resullar entertained us and introduced to our assigned cooperating
teachers wherein we acquainted and introduced each other as well as
presented the schedules of classes and topics. In addition, the school also took
part in the Fiesta Celebration of San Francisco, Surigao del Norte and as part
already of the Balite National High School family, we enthusiastically
participated and joined the program. As a matter of fact, we even performed
a dance presentation together with the talented teachers of BNHS. After the
event, we formally introduced ourselves to the students we are assigned to
handle.

Second week (Dec. 5-9, 2016)

During this week, the formal classes had begun. Most of us were
nervous, a little bit excited, and quite emotional to have a class. We then let
our students introduced themselves in front of the class so that we were able
to know and familiarize them. The next day up to the following days, lessons
were conducted into our assigned grades and sections.

Third week (Dec. 12-16, 2016)

This week, we barely had a class because of the preparation for the
Christmas Season specifically the Christmas party for every section and most
of the students were busy making and creating the best Christmas tree and
decoration they may have. We, practice teachers helped in decorating
classrooms especially in our advisory. We conducted a class in a few days of
a week but not the whole week accommodating one hour duration of classes
because students need to use couple of minutes decorating and cleaning their
classrooms to make it more creative and attractive especially that a hearsay
was said to be the decorations and the Christmas tree will be judged
accordingly. We also attended the Christmas party of the faculty and staff of
the school held at the Banbanon Beach were we enjoyed aeach other
companies as well as to mingle with them to create a harmonious relationship
between them.

Fourth Week (Jan. 3-6, 2017)

This is the first week of class after Christmas break. We were all busy
this week because we need to make our discussion faster due to the fact that
we were already behind of the topic we should discuss. Most of us were busy
making lesson plans, visual aids, and other materials that we are going to use
during class discussion. In the same manner, few days of a week were much
concentrated and what we had in our minds were our lessons to be conducted.
Fifth week (Jan. 9-13, 2017)
During this week, we were having a class and gave some important
key points that should be inclined for the third periodical examination because
the examination was on third week of this month specifically on Thursday
and Friday. Aside from giving the coverage for the exam, we also gave a
simple project that should be passed on or before the exam. In this week also,
we are preparing on what kind of exam we are going to imposed to the
students with of course inclined with the topics we had discussed from within
the few months. We are quite busy making other requirements for
examination such as test paper, table of specifications and others. We are very
busy creating some questions for the exam so that on the day of examination
we will not be cramming making test papers.

Sixth week (Jan. 16-20, 2017)

During this week, we gave a short review for the topics we had and
reminded the students for their project that should be submitted as soon as
possible. In the first three days of the week we were busy preparing the test
papers and our students for the upcoming examination. And the next two days
were the day for the 3rd periodical examination for all grades.
In this week, also was the meeting of all practice teachers, both in
Elementary and Secondary in the preparation for the upcoming culmination
program and other matters.
Seventh week (Jan. 23-27)
This week, was the busiest week we ever encountered. It is the week
for our schedule in checking the test paper except from other practice teachers
who were done already checking the test papers. We were also tasked to have
an item analysis for every section whom we conducted the examination. On
the next day, we’re again busy making a detailed lesson plan for our final
demonstration including the rating sheets for the principal and cooperating
teacher and pass it as soon as possible. And on Friday, we again participated
and take part for the activity of the school which was the Festival of Talents
where in some of the students joined the competition in dancing, singing, easy
writing, editorial cartooning, biglaang pagganap, pagbasa ng tula and there
were also students who presented a dance number.
Eight week (Jan. 30-Feb. 3, 2017)
This week, was our schedule for the final teaching demonstration with
our cooperating teacher together with the principal. On the first day of this
week, some of the practice teachers had done already their teaching
demonstration with their cooperating teacher together with the principal. She
then talked to us regarding to the teaching demonstration at the same time
apologized because she cannot attend the said schedule for the final
demonstration due prior commitment she was committed on that day, so it
was postponed on February 2, 2017 that is why our duty as a practice teacher
was extended.
When our final demonstration was resumed, the feeling of the first time to
teach is coming over our senses. It seemed like it’s our first time to conduct a
lesson, maybe because there is the Principal who will watched our discussion,
and in God’s grace we finished our demonstration with a smile, a smile that
symbolizes success and fulfillment. By this time also, we were making our
requirements to be pass to Mrs. Resullar.
We then also had also our culmination with our students. They gave us their
heartfelt messages that our tears fall down because of their sweet and
thoughtful letters. It was also the time where we returned their projects,
quizzes, and their test paper and returning books and modules to our
cooperating teacher. In addition, our principal told us to have our short
conference with all the practice teachers regarding with our lesson plan
demonstration only. And on Friday we again had our talent festival with all
the cooperation of practice teacher and TCC. The program was headed by
TCC leader Ms. Yap.
Ninth week (Feb. 6-8, 2017)
This week, was our joint culmination with the Elementary practice
teachers. The first two days of this week, we were preparing for our
culmination like practicing our presentation and of course cleaning the area
where we will hold our program. And on the day before the culmination, all
of the practice teachers in Balite were busy decorating and have some
finishing touches. On February 8 was the day of our joint culmination
program in morning. This was the time that we received our Certificate of
Completion, the 280 hours practice teaching as evidence that we completed
our duty as practice teacher and the time wherein we bid and gave our heartfelt
gratitude to the persons who made possible our task as practice teachers of
Balite National High School.

ENHANCEMENT SEMINAR
WITH LET CONCERNS
The enhancement seminar we had was a great opportunity given to us practice
teachers. We had the chance to experience and explore more the world we
choose to live, the world of teaching. Through this, I have been recalled and
reviewed on the substantial concepts and aspects in different tracts in the field
of Education. Through the lectures given by the different well-rounded
lecturers, we could learn some updates and new learnings and refreshed at the
same time.
LET is the most pivotal stage an Education student must have to pass through.
It serves as the bridge for a better future ahead of us. With the various subjects
and topics reviewed on us during the seminar, I can say that I am now half
ready to cross and pass the bridge.
Respected speakers and lecturers coming from different prestigious schools
shared their expertise on the field they were into. We were reviewed on the
basic or general topics in English, Math, Science and Filipino. Furthermore,
we reviewed the different topics inculcated on the professional subjects which
I am interested at. We were somehow refreshed to the topics we learned for
the past 3 and half year of learning in college. In similar way, certain laws and
R.A was also introduced in us during the seminar that the student teacher
should be familiar with.
Moreover, we also had our review with different reputable review centers
wherein we had the chance to review and practice ourselves on the actual
scenario of the Licensure Examination. We are gathered together for the
preparation for Student Teachers to the LET Examination. Because just like
what Confucius said, “Success depends upon previous preparation, and
without preparation there is such to be failure”. If we try to prepare and plan
for our future, surely success will come in our ways.
Student - Teacher
Activities in SSCT
Everyone is excited to grab their diploma. After the deployment in
Balite National High School, we were asked by our team leader to have an
open forum for the last time before leaving the land which hones our skills on
becoming a future teacher. On February 3, 2017 we had an event which is the
festival of talents with the theme “Diversified Talents: Key to Showcasing
Individual Uniqueness”. The students showed their different talents and skills
such as dancing, singing, cartooning, and easy writing. In this way, we can
say that each of us has different abilities and we are all unique individuals.
All of the contestants were really trying their best to show their talents with
confidence.

Last February 4, 2017 we seized the day by engaging ourselves with

the students. We have toured the place of Barangay Banbanon, Oslao, and
Balite for almost half day. After that short but unforgettable moment with the
students, we all went home with so much happiness.

Last February 8, 2017 we woke up early and excited to attend the

joint culmination program with the BEED practice teachers. The event started
at 8:00 am.

The Team Balite was gathered at Brgy. Balite Gymnasium with the
presence of our dearest coordinator Dr. Cases Dotillos-Dalaygon and Mrs.
Marivel Catacutan, and the Principal of Balite National High School and
Balite Elementary School with the cooperating teachers. The program was
ended at exactly 11:00 am and everyone enjoyed the event.
Indeed, being part of all those activities was enjoyable for me, and
aside from that it also helps me become more knowledgeable in our teaching
and learning experience. However, we have encountered also a lot of
difficulties in our journey as practice teachers but we still made it until the
very end. A job well done!
