• The highly-rigid yet lightweight all-alumi-
num frame provides excellent handling and
traction. The frame’s high torsional rigidity
improves stability in corners and enhances
the ability of riders to dial in the suspension

2 Specially designed rear wheels feature
reinforcing plates for the rims. Located
on the axle side of the rims, these plates
reinforce the rims where strength is
needed while minimizing weight. The
rear axle is also tapered for reduced
unsprung weight.
• Adjustable gas-charged reservoir shock
absorbers with dual-rate springs help deliver
progressive suspension action for excellent
handling. The rear shock features both high-
and low-speed compression adjustability.
3 The 449cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke
engine is based on the AMA Supercross
Championship winning KX450F moto-
crosser. It pumps out class-winning
torque and power, employs four titanium
valves, a lightweight forged piston, dual
valve springs and aluminum valve spring
retainers to reduce reciprocating weight.
• The 32-bit digital fuel injection system with
its 42mm throttle body provides smooth
throttle response, trouble-free starting and
a light throttle feel for reduced rider fatigue.
