OBJECTIVES OF ORGANIZING QUIZ COMPETITION

 To enhance the knowledge of the students.

 To get skills in conducting quiz competition
 To enhance knowledge of the group who are conducting quiz competition

INTRODUCTION

We ,M.Sc. Nursing 1st year obstetric and gynecological group conducted a quiz competition on 28-3-2011
with B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year students on the Topic – Stages Of Labour under the constant guidance of Ms
Jodi Bala Haobijam (Assist. Professor Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing. This quiz competition was
conducted for students of B.Sc.Nursing 3rd year keeping in mind their curriculum and for assessing and
enhacing their knowledge about the topic.

SELECTION OF THE GROUP FOR QUIZ

For the selection of group pretest was conducted. Prior permission was taken from class coordinator of
B.Sc.Nursing 3rd year for conducting quiz programme and pretest .Notice for student about the pretest was
displayed on notice board of BSc Nursing 3rd year. On 24-3-2011 pretest knowledge questionnaire tool was
conducted for B.Sc. nursing 3rd year students (2010-2011) in lecture Hall -3.The test was of 30 questions of
MCQ. The time duration for test was 30 minutes. After pretest the result was analyzed. On the basis of
marks obtained (more than 55%) in the pretest students were selected. Four teams A, B.C and D were
formed. Team was comprised of 4 members. .

150 questions were prepared quiz competition and checked by Ms Jodi Bala on 26-3-2011. Invitation was
given to principal, all HOD’s of all department and all faculty members. Responsbilities were deligated to
the group members as well as rounds with their rules for quiz were decided.

DAY OF QUIZ PROGRAMME (28-3-2011)

Quiz competition was conducted on 28-3-2011 from 1.30 to 2.30 pm. Warm welcome given to the Ms Jodi
Bala mam. All team members were informed about the rounds of quiz competition and their corresponding
rules.

ROUNDS AND THEIR RULES FOR QUIZ COMPETITION

1- PASSING ROUND

• Three questions will be asked to each team

• There will be four answer keys and you have to select the correct answer.
• 30 secs will be given for answering the question
• 10marks will be given to correct answer
• If the team is unable to give the answer the question will be pass to audience.

2 - NONPASSING ROUND

• Round 2 has three phases 1 short answer ,1 Abbrevation, 1 picture question and will be asked from
each team.
• 30 secs will be given for answering the question.
• No option will be given.

PHASE-1 ONE SHORT ANSWER

• 1 short answer question will be asked from each team.

• No option will be given. Each correct answer will carry 10 marks and incorrect answer will deduct 5
marks.
• 5 marks will be given to incomplete
• It is passable round. The question will be asked to another next two team and than to audience.
• 2 marks to correct answer will be given to next team.

PHASE-2 GUESS AND WIN

• A Picture will be shown to participant.

• The participant will depict the picture and answer the asked question related to it.
• Each correct answer will carry 10 marks and incorrect answer will deduct 5 marks.
• It is passable round. The question will be asked to another next two team and than to audience.
• 2 marks to correct answer will be given to next team.

PHASES-3 ABBREVATIONS

• One abbreviation will be asked from participant.

• Each correct answer will carry 10 marks incorrect answer will deduct 5 marks. .
• It is passable round. The question will be asked to another next two team and than to audience.
• 2 marks to correct answer will be given to next team.
3- RAPID FIRE ROUND

• The participants will have to answer 5 question.

• 10 sec will be given for answering each question
• Each correct answer will carry 10 marks and there will be no negative marking.
• It is non passable round. The question will asked only to audience.
• No option will be given.

Session of quiz competition was held on according to pre organized round

FINAL SCORES OF THE TEAMS WERE

1- Team A score ---30

2- Team B score ---32
3- Team C score----40
4- Team D score--- 45

 Team D stood first and Team was second in Quiz competition

Certificates and gifts were distributed to all four teams by Ms Jodi Bala mam.

 Vote of thanks given to Ms Jodi Bala mam for her guidance and supervision for the success of quiz
competition programme.
