particular scene.
Claude Monet was known for
painting in this style.
 POINTILLISM
(1886)
Pointillism are paintings that
are created by using points or
dots. The dots/points are placed
so close to each other that they
give an impression of an image.
Georges Seurat is classified as
the father of pointillism.
 CUBISM
(1907)
Cubism tries to bring three
dimension to a flat surface.
Geometric shapes are used in
these paintings so show all
sides of the subject. Pablo
Picasso and Georges Barque
started this style.
 ABSTRACT
EXPRESSIONISM
(1946)
Abstract Expressionism is an
art style that expresses the
artist’s thoughts or feelings
without using obvious shapes or
symbols. Jackson Pollock
painted in this style and is
known for his drip painting.
 POP ART
(1950s)
Pop art started in England and
then moved to New York City.
Artists use bright colors and
bold outlines to make the
subject appealing. Andy Warhol
popularized the art movement.
