The boy sat down on the dry grass. He

picked up a leaf and turned it over in his
hand. He was thinking... thinking hard
about something he’d done that was very,
very, wrong. He knew it was wrong when
he did it... but he did it anyway. And now
he felt sick to his stomach because he
knew his parents were going to
find out today, and he would
be punished. He tried to
think of what he would say
to them, but he knew he
didn’t have any excuse. As
he looked at the beautiful leaf
