Religion and Government

Separation of State and Religion: Is not stated in our Constitution, only that the government
cannot prevent the establishment of religion. The left doesn’t understand the why of it!

The “First Amendment” of our Constitution states that “Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof”…

However, the framers of our constitution wanted to make sure a religion was unable to take over
our government, unlike what happened in Great Britain and Spain in the past, and in Iran today.
But this does not mean that there can’t be a relationship between the two.

Its why people migrated to America in the 17th century, to avoid persecution by governments
who were controlled by one religion and who wanted to eradicate other religions and oppose
those who disagreed and started to become free thinkers about religion.

That’s why we became a Christian country, with multiple Protestant branches.

In Bladensburg, Maryland there has been, for nearly a century, a cross that honors soldiers who
died in World War I, it stands as a symbol in America of sacrifices our soldiers made during the
war. The Peace Cross was built of concrete and marble and stands 40-feet high and was built in
the 1920s to honor 49 dead local soldiers.

Currently, the antagonist are against the cross and want it removed because it is on government
property. We have, over the past several decades, allowed a very small minority of people to
influence individuals of authority in swaying them to their request to do away with religious
symbols and objects that they want banned, removed or destroyed.

The appeals court ruled that because the cross was a core symbol of Christianity, its prominent
display on public property was an unconstitutional endorsement of religion. Conservative groups
are urging a broad ruling that would sweep aside past restrictions and allow small towns and
school districts to display religious symbols.

Both liberal and conservative justices of the Supreme Court agreed that the Peace Cross should
not be torn down or moved.

Nowhere does our Constitution state that our Christian symbols cannot be displayed on public
land. Our national motto is “In God We Trust” which appears not only on our currency but on
courthouse walls and monuments of all kinds.

We believe it is time that “we the people” demand our government pass a resolution that states:

Amendment
United States of America
Religious Foundation
Preamble: We, the citizens of the United States of America do reaffirm that our country is based on
Christian principles, and therefore establish the following resolution:

Section I
That even before the formation of the United States of America and our Constitution, we have been a
Christian based culture.

Section II
That the United States of America was founded on Christian principles and values.

Section III
That no Federal, State or Local Government will be influenced by any form of religion.

Section IV
That religion will never be influenced by any form of government, with one exception. Any religious
group practicing or encouraging the down fall of our government and/or our Constitution, and who
practices, encourages or supports any form of terrorism will be guilty of sedition or treason, and will be
prosecuted to the fullness of our laws.

Section V
That separation of State and Religion does not mean that both cannot acknowledge each other and learn
from each other. Therefore, it is correct for Christian words and symbols to be included in our
government activity as part of our culture.

That this does not exclude the use of Christian religious displays from being used, as these are part of our
heritage.

That as in the beginning of our country, the government can use Christian words and symbols in their
documents, speech and displays on public property, as a continuation of our Christian beliefs and values
which were established prior to, during and after the formation of our Constitution and the United States
of America.

Section VI
That nowhere does it explicitly state that our society cannot display and honor our traditional holidays and
symbols in any and all places of society.
