Abstract

Social Media is a platform that lets us participate in social


networking. We can share our posts on various social media
platforms to improve business visibility. Today it is the best
source for news updates, marketing, education, and entertainment.

Social media are computer-mediated technologies that allow


the creating and sharing of information, ideas, career interests
and other forms of expression via virtual communities and
networks. The variety of stand-alone and built-in social media
services currently available introduces challenges of
definition.

Social media is in everywhere, most of the people are


engaging in online selling. This study will give you a guideline
on how to use the social media as your marketing tool.

The idea that social media are defined by their ability to


bring people together has been seen as too broad a definition,
as this would suggest that the telegraph and telephone were also
social media – not the technologies scholars are intending to
describe. The terminology is unclear, with some referring to
social media as social networks.

INTRODUCTION

Business in today’s day and age is dominated by customers


and their demands. People prefer to see referrals, reviews over
Google search results, or a website before purchasing a product.
To stand by the flow, we need to learn what people say about us.
You need to actively participate in relevant communities to
interact and influence masses. You need to engage with social
media to manage your online reputation. Social media marketing
is a must to target a wider customer base and expand your
business.
Social Media Marketing is the activity of driving website
traffic through social media sites.

Every year technology is getting better, smoother and


continue improving our daily lives. Most of us rely on this to
make things easier and less effort, and one of the most common
advancement in the technology we have today is the internet and
that give way to the discovery of Social Media or Social
Networking Sites.

Many believe that Social Media is the key to unite the


people in the world, almost all of us are aware of this, and
basically become part of their lives. Right now the social media
is much known to teenagers and the wide spread of the social
networking sites gives them the power to create an online
community, group or a small cluster of friends even if one of
them is in the far side of the earth.

Significance of the Study

The purpose of this study is to educate the users of the


social media as marketing tool and also its advantage and
disadvantages to people and society. How will this affect our
life and how is this very common to the teenagers? This research
will also give information about the threats and why so many
people experience scam.
Social Media may be common to most of us, but some people
are not yet educated on how to properly use the social media as
your marketing tool and to avoid abusing it to others that
causes to scam.

Scope and delimitation of the study

This study is focuses on the history of the social media,


different types of social media and how they affect to the
online selling business industries, the advantages and
disadvantages of the social media to the society and especially
to the sellers and buyers.
