Introduction

Background of the Study

There are several types of learners in today’s society, one may still be learning
through books and look for information at the library and the other one may take use of
their mobile gadgets for convenient searching. We all have different and unique styles of
studying but it is up to that person who will decide about what is the most comfortable
method that he/she could use. Some people are still going to the library and search their
favorite books to read. While on the other hand it could be faster if we use our phones
instead and browse specific information in the internet. It really builds up confusion but
that is why there must be a study and research regarding to this topic in order to gain
understanding for certain individuals.

Due to technology advancement and innovation people may seem to depend

more on mobile gadget because it costs us less effort to find things and makes our life
easier. We want to conduct a research based solely on Junior High School students in
Assumption College of Davao since students use mobile gadgets more often for many
reasons. This research will depend on survey test and little interviews to gain knowledge
from the experience of our selected students. We want to gather much information as we
could in order to provide a wide product of data of information to students that still uses
the old method of searching information vs. the new one. This may affect their academic
performance, so researching this will be interesting and helpful.
 METHODOLOGY

Research Method of Collecting Data

This study utilizes the Quantitative Method of research. As widely accepted,

quantitative research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical
data or data that can be transformed to into usable statistics.

Sampling is the process of selecting the participants from the target population to
be included in the study.
The Slovin’s Formula is used to determine a reliable sample size.
Research Environment and Respondents

The study and distribution of surveys were conducted at Assumption College of

Davao. The researchers conducted the surveys questionnaire for most of the Grade 10
