3.- Grammar: 3rd person singular

Tercera persona: He, she and It.

Como ya saben, cuando se habla de El, Ella, o Esto. Se ocupa otra forma
del verbo, por ejemplo el presente simple del verbo To be es ARE o AM,
pero con SHE HE and IT se aplica el IS.
También vimos que el verbo To Have, cuando se habla en el presente
simple se usa I HAVE o THEY HAVE, pero con SHE HE and IT se aplica
el HAS. SHE HAS, HE HAS, IT HAS.
Otros ejemplos que ya vimos son
Do = Does
Want = Wants
Like = Likes
Study = Studies
_____________

Base form, Simple present and Simple present 3rd person (singular) =

Forma base (infinitive ‘To like’, sin el ‘To’) -----> like = Querer
Presente simple -----> I like = Yo quiero
Presente simple 3ra persona -----> She likes = Ella quiere

Forma base (infinitive ‘To go’, sin el ‘To’) -----> Go = Ir

Presente simple -----> I go = Yo voy
Presente simple 3ra persona -----> He goes = Él va

Forma base (infinitive ‘To get up’, sin el ‘To’) -----> Get up = Levantarse
Presente simple -----> I get up = Yo me levanto
Presente simple 3ra persona -----> He gets up = Él se levanta

Entonces vemos que normalmente se añade una S al final de la forma

base del verbo, con la excepción:

EXCEPTION:
Cuando un verbo en forma base termina en -S -SH -CH o -X se le añade
no una S al final, sino una -ES.

She watches TV after dinner.

He brushes his teeth at 10:00.
