CLIMEAT CHANGE

A meet for climate change and our meat consumption

Project description: A campaign against climate change with emphasis


on meat consumption and how it affects our land,
water and health.

This program aims to encourage fellow youth leaders


to be a part of the campaign and champion solution
in the city and the nation.

Project objectives: To be able to apply knowledge learned from the


workshop held at Greenpeace Philippines in Quezon
City.

To equip young leaders with sufficient knowledge to


champion campaign for Climate Change

To build pool of “climeate changers” in Zamboanga


City to help champion campaign against climate
change.

Project rationale: Meat productions and consumptions contribute


largely to climate change. Experts say that by 2050
the developed world will need to reduce their meat
consumption by 50%. Zamboanga City and other
cities and provinces do not have any ordinances or
resolution with regard to this matter and we wish to
bring young leaders to empower them and join us as
we move for this cause through a seminar and
leadership workshop. This is also in line with the
celebration of International Action for Climate
Change and Sustainability Week.
Project date: October 28, 2018 Sunday
Project Venue: La Casa Maria, Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City
Project target: 20 Filipino youth aging from 18-25 years old.
PROGRAMME

To be able to apply knowledge learned from the workshop held at


Greenpeace Philippines in Quezon City.

The proponent will hold a seminar workshop in the city to be able re-echo
conversations held last August 11-12, 2018 in Quezon City, Philippines to
promote awareness.

To equip young leaders with sufficient knowledge to champion campaign for


Climate Change

The proponent will introduce La Tierra y Agua and how it started as a


formation to tackle issues through social media and eventually holds
community projects. This will also give time to introduce Greenpeace and its
vision to the participants and stress out the importance of campaigning and
why do we have to engage ourselves in campaigning and sending ourselves
to volunteer for causes like climate action and other important matters.

Introduction to climate change will also be tackled and the role of meat
consumptions and productions in the picture. It will also be highlighted into
three different pictures. (1) How it ruins our land (2) water and (3) health.
To build pool of “climeate changers” in Zamboanga City to help champion
campaign against climate change.

At the end of the session the participants are given time to pitch their own
project/s as to how are they going to champion the battle against climate
change specifically in their area or the city as a whole and a resolution
writeshop and management.

All of the outputs will be documented and winning team may have the
chance to implement their project with the supervision of the team, the
funding will depend on the budget available.

The participants are also expected to furnish a resolution to be edited by the


panel from the team with the help of Greenpeace and/or Policy and
Advocacy Specialist and to be submitted at the City Council of Zamboanga.
