Project Management Feasibility Study
Classrom: 3 Days (24 contact hours)
Course overview
What are the roots causes of project problems and failure? Projects that suffer from a lack of a proper
project management feasibility study generally overlook, or significantly underestimate, key success
factors such as:
¤ The technology, resources and/or funding required to develop the project’s end product or service
are underestimated or not available
¤ The forecasted market demand for the product or service is overstated
¤ Superior competing or alternative solutions are not identified or ignored
¤ Adequate post-project funding is not available for operations, support and/or marketing
¤ Extremely complex or difficult problems critical to project success are either not identified or are
glossed over at project initiation.
Poor project feasibility is mitigated by ensuring that the stakeholders’ expectations for the project are
reasonable. One mitigating action is to follow a proven project methodology that includes a project
management feasibility study, identification of solution alternatives, and running cost/benefit/risk
assessment on each. Aligned with the Project Management Institute’s A Guide to the Project
Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) latest edition, this course will build new
competencies and skills to complete an extensive, realistic, project case study.
In this course, you will be introduced to the core knowledge required around project management skills
and key initiatives for requirements analysis, risk management, quality assurance, financial management,
cost benefit analysis, capital planning and investment assessment, contracting and procurement,
planning and evaluating skills, business process reengineering.

Project Management
for EPC Project
Classrom: 3 Days (24 contact hours)
Course overview
EPC projects face many challenges to stay in the competitive
world despite of the efforts made towards compressing
activities by phase overlapping, in order to reduce time scale
and to obtain better EPC projects. These project challenges
lead to cost overrun and schedule delay.
Managing an EPC project can be very daunting especially in today’s competitive environment wherein the
success of the project is not always set in stone. Despite the increased efforts to meet the budget and
reduce the time scale, often, we see this leads to cost overruns and project delay.
The most fundamental mistake project managers make is going in feet first without having a clear
understanding of the nature and scope of the project. Most project managers would justify poor
management practices to unavoidable risks at each phase of the project. Although risks can be mitigated,
turning a blind eye on the real issue is in itself already a risk the project manager incurs. While they grasp at
straws coming up with effective risk management strategies, the issue continues to stare them down in the
face.
This training will provide participants with practical experience by applying the fundamentals of EPC project
management and advanced methods for risk management, claim management and contract close-out.
Additional topics will cover the real world problems in project management for engineers advancing to EPC
project managers and project managers who, up until now, still lack the proper knowledge and skills.
By implementing the project management concept at any process of project management, it will reduce the
level of uncertainty during the basic design process and makes the derivation accountable. The more
accurate you do any conceptual process, the less contingency to be conversed for the uncertainties, as well
the opposite.

Project Management
for property industry
Classrom: 3 Days (24 contact hours)
Course overview
Outside of construction work, property as an industry has generally been slow to adopt formal
project management methods and techniques. Although inroads in this regard are being made in
property development projects, the acquisition of property assets of any nature is almost never
perceived as a “project” in the technical sense of the word. Instead, property acquisition is
treated as a transaction best handled exclusively by lawyers and other legal personnel, and for
which no project management skills or knowledge are required.
The greatest challenge presented to a project manager on an acquisition project may very well be how to
avoid being ignored. Since success is the best guarantor of being taken seriously, the project manager
needs to deliver measurable project value. Baselines should be created and actuals frequently monitored
against them. Schedules should not simply be adhered to, but efforts also made to optimize those
schedules. Budgets must be scrutinized not only for the purpose of saving costs, but also with an eye to
recognizing those instances in which application of additional resources (financial or other) will produce
exponentially greater value. Furthermore, the project manager should insure that project progress on
these and other subjects are regularly and appropriately communicated to management, the client, the
project sponsor and other stakeholders.
In property development, project management is used to ensure the development project is completed
on time, within cost budget, in accordance with quality and design requirements, and in compliance with
relevant laws and regulations.

Global Project Management
Classrom: 3 Days (24 contact hours)
Course overview
Global projects are the key initiatives used to connect business strategy with global growth and
compliance objectives. As corporate strategists increase the focus on obtaining future growth from
global activities, organizations need to be able to take rigorous project disciplines to the global stage
and execute projects effectively and efficiently.
90% of large companies are conducting global projects to take advantage of distributed skills;
around-the-clock operations and virtual team environments, less than one third of them have
effective, established practices to help project managers and team members working over a
distance. As a consequence, most organizations struggle to reach the required levels of quality and
effectiveness from these projects because their methods and practices are not adapted to a global
multi-cultural environment, where most communication is in writing and asynchronous. Global
Project Management describes how to adapt your organization and your projects to thrive in this
environment.
In this course, you will learn how to approach the challenges of global projects such as: logistics,
language, culture and stakeholder engagement. You will develop an understanding of these
challenges and find the best solution to deal with them.
