Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship (certificate of achievement, 12 weeks)
Coincides with the typical slowdown in the horticultural industry during the winter months

Industrial Woodworking Technician (Diploma, 3 semesters)

- Knowledge and skills to construct and install basic cabinets, as well as build traditional furniture using
recognized trade practices
- Able to produce shop drawings, calculate a list of materials, cut out and assemble basic cabinetry or
furniture, and apply a finish

Mechanical Engineering Technician (Diploma, 4 semesters)

- Thorough knowledge of materials and mechanical solutions for designing and manufacturing mechanical
parts and assemblies.
- Courses focus on:
 engineering drawings/calculations
 mechanical operations
 programming of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools using computer-aided manufacturing
(CAM) software – Mastercam
 applying design principles and practices
 design and manufacturing process problems
 learning 2D computer-aided design (CAD) software – AutoCAD, 3D CAD software – SolidWorks.

Supply Chain Management (Ontarion Graduate Certificate, 2 semesters)

- Learn to research and analyze the marketplace; develop demand forecasts; evaluate suppliers’ capabilities
to deliver; utilize technology such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP); develop
aggregate and master production plans/schedules; and analyze business processes.
- Learn industry-standard theories, methods, and techniques (Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Just-in-
Time, Lean) and how they apply to supply chain management strategies and problem solving.

2) The Business School

Supply Chain Managemenet, Bachelor of Commerce
- Provides grounding in both general business knowledge and specialized supply chain skills across a wide
range of industries.
- Starts with a foundation of business studies in areas such as organizational behaviour, law, economics,
finance and accounting, marketing, and operations management. Specialization courses will focus on using
current theories, methods and techniques to problem solve and develop supply chain management
strategies.
