Introduction
The energy assessment affirms that solutions to these
urgent problems are possible. We can create energy
systems that lead to a more equitable, environmentally
sound, and economically viable world. Changing
energy systems is a complex and long-term process -
one that will require major and concentrated efforts by
governments, businesses, and members of civil
society. At the end of 2017, the installed power
generation capacity of India is reported to be around
330.86 GW. Renewable Energy installed capacity
constitutes around 31.7% of the total installed
capacity. Despite growth in supply, our power systems
are struggling to overcome severe power shortages and
poor power quality. Madhya Pradesh has witnessed
considerable development on Wind power front,
which constitutes around 70.19 % of total Renewable
Energy installed capacity (447.79 MW). Small Hydro
and Biomass constitute around 19.26% and 8.93% of
the total Renewable Energy installed capacity,
respectively. Whereas, the Solar installed capacity
constitutes only 1.62% (7.25MW) of the total
Renewable Energy installed capacity in the state.
Our energy future will largely depend on the actions
not only of governments, but also regional alliances,
the private sector, and civil society.
Objectives of Workshop
Govt. has initiated programs which emphasized that
sustainable energy production, distribution, and use
are crucial for continual improvements in quality of
life. It’s important in achieving the interrelated
economic, social, and environmental aims of
sustainable human development especially for the
developing state like MP. In order to realize this goal,
kind of energy produced and its use will have to be
modify. Otherwise, environmental damage will
accelerate and economic growth of MP will be
jeopardized.
This call for an urgent need to develop, encourage
and popularize implementation of renewable
energy which will facilitate MP to be the leading
state in the areas of renewable energy.
